Funko Pop! has revealed its new line of collectibles for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The newest installment in the franchise brings a whole new kind of challenge for Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who faces a brand new enemy in the form of a bitter old rival. Pirate hunter Captain Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem) makes his debut in Dead Men Tell No Tales, while the sequel also features Orlando Bloom returning as Will Turner -- undead, of course.

Bloom’s return was a major pull for the movie, but the real strength of Dead Men Tell No Tales could lie in Bardem’s performance as the villainous Salazar. Recent previews have shown Salazar in both living and undead form, as the detailed past between him and Sparrow powers much of the sequel’s story. It’s no surprise that the new villain is featured prominently in the movie’s merchandising efforts -- including a new line of Funko Pop! Figures.

The Funko Blog revealed on Monday its new series of Funko Pop! vinyl collectibles for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, expected out in May. The series features two versions of Jack Sparrow, a standard figure and a “weathered gold” edition. There are also two Funko Pop! figures of Salazar, a living version and an undead version. A “Ghost of Will Turner” figure rounds out the set. Check them all out in the gallery below:

The “Ghost Salazar” figure is listed as a “1-in-6 rarity,” so you’ll have to do some searching to nab that one. The golden Jack Sparrow, meanwhile, is only available at Hot Topic locations. Funko also recently revealed Funko Pop! figure collections for Justice League, Wonder Woman, and Alien: Covenant.

The undead Salazar’s quest to obtain the Trident of Poseidon, which could help him eradicate all living pirates, will be at the center of the story in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales as Sparrow battles back against his old foe. Bardem looks menacing as “Ghost Salazar” in all of the previews and the early reactions to the movie sound positive, so it’s quite possible that the Salazar figures are the most popular Funko Pop! collectibles of the new series.

It’s unclear how much of the younger, living Salazar will be seen in the sequel, or how dynamic the character will be in the first place. The same goes for Bardem’s performance. But he is an actor who can be depended upon to deliver something memorable, and a great villain would make Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales -- and these new collectibles -- significantly more successful.
