The two have worked together before, creating Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and The Polar Express, having a very impressive track record together. But there are still a lot of major roles that need to be filled for this upcoming project.

Will Poulter would be a smart choice to play this role due to how great he is at being over the top with his comedy. Poulter has got the right look for the character as well, and seeing him act like the confident character, only to then turn into a donkey would create a funny moment within the movie.

Stromboli - Ron Perlman

Pinocchio Live Action (2)

Stromboli is one of the scariest Disney villains of all time. His commanding presence and booming voice make him a very scary person, but he is also able to be very charming as well. Stromboli starts out nice to trick Pinocchio in, but quickly turns and showcases his real personality.

Ron Perlman would work really well in this role as he has the size and has certainly been scary at times, which he showcased during his time in Sons Of Anarchy. It's an important role in the movie and one that Perlman would execute brilliantly.

The Coachman - John Cena

Coachman John Cena

The Coachman is another scary character from Pinocchio and someone who doesn't take any prisoners. He is the one who takes the boys to Pleasure Island, only to sell them on after they become donkeys, and John Cena would certainly be an interesting person to play this role.

So far in his career, Cena has showcased a wide variety of skills, from being the fun voice in animated movies to being an action hero and a comedic actor. But this would allow him to get to grips with a serious villain, while also adding a physical presence to The Coachman, which would likely make him even scarier.

The Blue Fairy - Emma Thompson

Emma Thompson - Blue Fairy

Emma Thompson would be the perfect choice to cast as The Blue Fairy for a variety of reasons. She has the perfect balance between kindness and sternness, which this character does have. She's fair with Pinocchio, but she also tries to guide and teach him.

Emma has been involved in a previous Disney live-action, where she took on the role of Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, which is very similar to this role in terms of being someone with experience who can provide a kind word when needed, which is why she would make a great Blue Fairy.

Honest John - Zac Efron

Zac Efron Honest John

Honest John is a character that is absolutely full of charm and personality, even if he is anything but honest. Zac Efron would be excellent in this role, as he is an incredibly charming person who has got plenty of energy which would be great for this role.

Using his dancing abilities from High School Musical to strut around as Honest John does, but being able to turn on a darker side, which he has done at points in his career would make him ideal for the role.

Gideon - Jack Black

Jack Black - GIdeon

Jack Black joining the cast of Pinocchio would certainly be a major coup for Disney and would add another big name to the project alongside Tom Hanks. The character of Gideon is actually a mute in the animated movie, therefore whoever plays this character needs to be great at conveying emotion with their actions and facial expressions.

There are few actors who are more emotive than Jack Black, which would make him a great casting for this role. Plus, there's no reason that Gideon has to stay mute within the live-action version, therefore it could allow Jack to express himself even further.

Jiminy Cricket -  Michael B. Jordan

Michael B jORDAN Jiminy Cricket

Jiminy Cricket is the wise conscience of Pinocchio and is one of the greatest characters in Disney history. He's someone that is full of heart, charm, and personality and it is certainly a tough role for Disney to get right when it comes to a live-action casting.

However, Michael B. Jordan is someone who could absolutely pull it off. He's worked with Disney before, by being part of Black Panther, and he would bring his excellent acting range to this role as well.

Pinocchio - Noah Schnapp

Pinocchio Live Action

The role of Pinocchio is going to be a very important one to cast due to the fact that this is the lead role within the movie. Someone with experience is likely going to be the right way to go with this role in order for it to be delivered at the highest quality, and Noah Schnapp could certainly pull it off.

Pinocchio has to be charming and fun, but also someone who has flaws and Noah is someone who has the ability to pull off the varied emotions perfectly, as he showcases within his performances in Stranger Things
