Patrick Stewart revealed a new Star Trek: Picard season 3 clip of Admiral Jean-Luc Picard teaming up with Captain Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Stewart was in New York with his fellow Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, and Frakes for a special NYC premiere of Star Trek: Picard season 3 on Monday night. Stewart is making the media rounds to hype what's billed as the final season of Picard.

In the new Star Trek: Picard season 3 clip Patrick Stewart brought to The Late Show, Jean-Luc Picard meets with Will Riker at the 10 Forward bar to discuss an SOS Picard received from Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). As they try to decipher Beverly's message, Riker references when Picard was turned into Locutus of Borg in TNG. You can watch the clip and Stewart's interview with Colbert below:

Star Trek Picard Season 3 Riker and Picard

Admiral Picard and Captain Riker teaming up to rescue Dr. Beverly Crusher kicks off the action in Star Trek: Picard season 3. From what's evident in Star Trek: Picard season 3's trailers, Dr. Crusher is attacked by the series' new villain, Captain Vadic (Amanda Plummer). Why Crusher is in Vadic's cross hairs is yet to be revealed, but Beverly calls Picard for help while simultaneously urging him to "trust no one." Picard and Riker ride to Crusher's aid aboard the USS Titan-A, Star Trek: Picard season 3's new hero ship.

Picard and Riker clearly still have their old TNG magic in the new Star Trek: Picard season 3 clip Patrick Stewart showed on The Late Show. Riker last appeared in live-action in Star Trek: Picard season 1's finale when he rescued Jean-Luc from a Romulan armada. Naturally, Picard would turn to his former Number One first and recruit his help to rescue Dr. Crusher. Picard and Riker will likely reassemble their old crew from the USS Enterprise-D and E as Star Trek: Picard season 1 progresses.

While Picard and Riker appear to be bosom buddies back in action, their team-up might not remain so harmonious. The actors have already teased that there will be some "conflict" between Admiral Picard and Captain Riker, possibly a schism caused by differences in their command styles during their rescue mission. Meanwhile, Picard and Riker also have to contend with the Captain of the Titan, Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick), a new character who evidently isn't a fan of the TNG heroes, especially since they're using his ship to relive their glory days. The hype for Star Trek: Picard season 3 is at a fever pitch, and the new clip Patrick Stewart shared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert certainly whets the appetite for the final season.
