Star Trek: Picard is the newest show to join the Star Trek universe. It features Jean-Luc Picard, former captain of the USS Enterprise, on a quest twenty years after he last captained that ship. He enlists the help of a motley crew of individuals to help him protect an android against a Romulan secret society dedicated to eliminating all synthetic life.

On a quest, it's natural to align your characters according to the Dungeons & Dragons Moral Alignment scale. Developed as a way to categorize players in D&D, the moral alignment system classifies characters as either good or evil and lawful or chaotic. Ever wondered where your favorite Picard characters fall? Scroll on to find out.

Elnor: Lawful Good

Star Trek Picard Elnor Sword

Picard saved Elnor (Evan Evagora) when he was just a child. Elnor was raised to be a fierce warrior by a group of Romulan nuns. He binds himself to Picard in a vow of protection and joins the quest. His skills make him dangerous, but he is one of the kindest souls on the ship.

Elnor is not specifically tied to any bureaucracy but he does have a strict code of contact for himself. He will protect Picard at all costs. There is no wiggle room for Elnor. His dedication to what is right is absolute. He is lawful good through and through.

Seven Of Nine: Neutral Good

Seven of Nine Jeri Ryan Star Trek Picard

Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is a former Borg drone rescued by Voyager. She travels the galaxy as a Ranger, helping those in need. She pops in to help out Picard on his mission on behalf of all ex-Borgs on the Borg cube where Soji worked.

Seven of Nine doesn't operate under any bureaucratic organization. She's part of a group of Rangers that help others according to their own personal codes of honor. Seven cooperates with whom she needs to, but prefers to take matters into her own hands. That makes her neutral good.

Jean-Luc Picard: Chaotic Good

Star Trek Picard Golem

Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) used to be lawful good. He was a rule-follower who believed strongly in Starfleet's ideals. That man is no more. When Starfleet refused to help Romulus as it was being destroyed and instead worried about the recent attack by synthetics on Mars, Picard lost all faith.

Picard became a new man. One who does whatever it takes, regardless of the law, to do what's right. He's gone rogue, but for the right reasons. Picard gets a crew together and goes on his mission without Starfleet's blessing. Against it, in fact. That's chaotic good without question.

Dr. Agnes Jurati: Lawful Neutral

Agnes Jurati Star Trek Picard

Dr. Agnes Jurati (Allison Pill) is a synthetic life expert. She worked at the infamous Daystrom Institute before joining Picard on his quest. Though she does some unforgivable things on her journey, her crewmembers of La Sirena see the good in her and give her the benefit of the doubt.

Agnes is an anxious rule-follower, a classic lawful neutral. No matter what side she's on, she does what she's meant to do. She still has the agency to do what she believes is right. But she follows a strict code that involves deferring to her superiors at times.

Rios: True Neutral

Cristóbal "Chris" Rios (Santiago Cabrera) is the pilot and owner of La Sirena, the ship Picard contracts for his mission. Rios used to be a Starfleet officer but was traumatized by his time in service. He has five holograms, each specialized for a certain area of the ship.

Rios is true neutral because he's not invested in any side or any fight. He is concerned with his own life, but not in a selfish way. He just simply stays in his lane. He has enough going on in his own head anyway. He volunteers his services but isn't devoted to the cause.

Raffi: Chaotic Neutral

Raffi Musiker from Star Trek Picard

Rafaella "Raffi" Muskier (Michelle Hurd) was a Starfleet intelligence officer. She worked with Picard on his failed plan to evacuate the Romulans during the supernova that destroyed Romulus. Raffi struggles with substance abuse and is estranged from her only son.

Raffi embodies the chaotic neutral alignment. Her primary concern is her own agency, her own freedom. She follows her heart first and foremost. Sometimes it leads her astray, other times it leads her to be a part of Picard's mission.

Soji Asha: Unaligned

Star Trek Picard Season 1 Finale Soji

Soji Asha (Isa Briones) is an android. She doesn't know it at first, however. She thinks she's a regular human with a regular life. The illusion is ruined by Narek, who forms a relationship with her to get information. Soji is not only betrayed by her lover, but also finds out her whole life is a lie.

Soji is too fresh to the truth to be aligned. She has yet to develop her morality. She's not evil, but she's not exactly "good" either. She's just trying to find the truth. She generally does the "right" thing, but mostly at the encouragement of others. We can expect Soji to develop an alignment in Season 2.

Oh: Lawful Evil

Star Trek Picard General Oh

Commodore Oh (Tamlyn Tomita) is the half-Vulcan, half-Romulan Starfleet chief of security. She uses her Vulcan side to gain respect and authority in Starfleet but is secretly a member of the Romulan Zhat Vash, the ancient cabal dedicated to protecting the galaxy from artificial life.

Oh works within the system to enact her evil plan. She believes that being a high-ranking Starfleet officer will give her the power she needs to carry out the Zhat Vash agenda. She uses bureaucracy to her benefit. That's why she's lawful evil.

Narissa: Neutral Evil

Star Trek Picard Narissa

Narissa (Peyton List) is an agent of the Zhat Vash. She poses as Starfleet security officer Lieutenant Rizzo to infiltrate the system. She is in charge of the operation to find and destroy Soji and her twin sister Dahj. This means she operates as her brother Narek's handler.

Narissa is classically neutral evil because she prioritizes herself above all else, even above her mission. She even tells her brother she's going to look out for herself first if everything falls apart. Narissa truly doesn't care about anyone other than herself.

Narek: Chaotic Evil

Narek (Harry Treadaway) is a Romulan spy who works with his sister, a member of the Zhat Vash. He forms a romantic relationship with Soji to obtain information about her homeworld. It is his manipulation that wakes Soji up to the truth of her existence.

Despite his charm, Narek aligns as evil. He is chaotic as well. He believes his own plans are the best and refuses to be told otherwise. He follows his own path to his evil end, sometimes leaving others in the dust. Given the end of Season 1, his alignment is subject to change in the future. We're not sure exactly what his motives are right now.
