Phoebe Buffay was undoubtedly a smooth-talker, despite going about this in her own quirky way. She wasn't as overt about flirting as someone like Joey Tribbiani, but Phoebe was suave and charming nonetheless. She met her true love, Mike Hannigan, in season 9, and she would ultimately marry him before the end of the series.

Mike was actually Phoebe's third husband, which says a lot about her way with men. The quirky, lovable character certainly had a way with words and an alluring weirdness that never failed to charm her romantic interests. Phoebe Buffay has said some pretty strange things over the course of Friends, but she's also had her share of charismatic phrases, so let's take a look at some of her most memorable pick-up lines.

"Were You Planning On Kissing Me, Ever?"

Phoebe met what we know as her first real love interest in the tenth episode of season 1, "The One With The Monkey". David would eventually move to Minsk to pursue his career as a scientist, but he certainly made an impression on both Phoebe and the series as a whole.

Phoebe and David hit it off right away, and she wasted no time using one of her signature suave pick-up lines on him, when she casually asked him, "Were you planning on kissing me, ever?".

"Oh, Hello, Mr. Bicep."

When Rachel and Phoebe find out about Monica and Chandler's secret relationship in season 5, a competition of sorts ensues between the four of them. Phoebe and Rachel use creative methods in an attempt to get Chandler to spill the secret that they already know, while Monica's infamous competitive streak causes her to coerce Chandler into holding his ground as long as possible.

Before Chandler finally breaks down and admits that he's in love with Monica, Phoebe flirts with him relentlessly, in an attempt to use her smooth-talking skills to break him. Caressing his arm, Phoebe hilariously comments, "oh hello there, Mr. Bicep".

"You Should Hear My Phone Number."

Friends Tag

The fourth episode of season 7 was titled "The One With Rachel's Assistant", in which the series introduced young and charming Tag Jones. The character, played by Eddie Cahill, would appear in seven episodes of the series in total.

Phoebe met Tag in the aforementioned episode and predictably made quite an impression on him. Rachel introduced them, and Tag commented, "Phoebe - that's a great name", to which Phoebe responds, "You like that? You should hear my phone number".

"Just Take Off Your Shirt And Tell Us."

Brad Pitt made a guest appearance in season 8 of Friends, in the ninth episode, titled "The One With The Rumor". He starred as Ross and Monica's old high school flame, Will. In this episode, it's revealed that Will, who used to be bullied by Rachel due to his weight, created the "I Hate Rachel Green Club" with Ross when the two were in high school.

Besides the drama with Rachel, the rest of the gang really takes to Will, especially Phoebe, who can't quite hide her infatuation with him. As Will is about to tell the gang about the rumor he and Ross spread about Rachel in high school, Phoebe says, "Come on, Will, take off your shirt and tell us".

"That Wouldn't Stand In The Way Of A True Pianist."

Phoebe and Mike at Central Perk in Friends.

The season 9 episode, "The One With The Pediatrician", introduces Paul Rudd's character, Mike Hannigan. This happens when Joey forgets that he and Phoebe are supposed to be setting each other up with blind dates, so in a last-ditch effort to find somebody, Joey goes to Central Perk and calls out, "Mike!".

Despite meeting under unusual circumstances, Phoebe and Mike do hit it off. Mike tells Phoebe that he hopes he plays piano, and Phoebe asks him to prove it. He points out that there's no piano around, to which  Phoebe responds, "that would stand in the way of a true pianist".

"Where's My Strong Ross Skywalker To Come And Rescue Me?"

In the season 3 premiere of Friends, titled "The One With The Princess Leia Fantasy",  it's revealed that Ross has a Princess Leia fantasy, something that notably freaks Rachel out. She confides in Phoebe, who claims it's normal and "every guy has it".

This doesn't stop Phoebe from hilariously teasing Ross, mockingly flirting with him and saying, "where's my strong Ross Skywalker to come and rescue me?".

"Is Daddy Getting Angry?"

In another moment where Phoebe memorably teases Ross, she makes fun of the fact that he and Rachel refer to each other as "mommy and daddy" while Rachel was pregnant with Emma.

This is revealed in the season 9 episode, "The One With The Lottery".  Phoebe torments Ross, saying things like, "is Daddy getting angry? Is Daddy gonna spank me?".

"You Should See Me When...Oh No, I Actually Look Pretty Good."

In the season 9 episode, "The One With The Male Nanny", Phoebe unexpectantly reunites with David who shows up at her apartment shortly after she had just exchanged keys with Mike. Despite being in a relationship with the ladder, Phoebe doesn't turn David away but is rather happy to see him.

Upon reuniting, David comments that Phoebe looks great, to which she responds, "you should see me when...oh no, I actually look pretty good". It's this self-confidence that makes Phoebe so admirable.

 "I'm Undercover Right Now; I'm A Whore."

Phoebe Gary Friends

In season 5, Phoebe memorably finds a badge in Central Park and begins to put it to use in a way only Phoebe could, scolding people for putting cigarettes out on trees and the like. She begins to have a little too much fun and gets carried away when, by chance, she tries to "arrest" the cop who the badge actually belongs to.

The cop, Gary, later shows up at Phoebe's apartment to charge her for using his badge, but he was seemingly charmed by their first encounter - in which Phoebe told him "I'm undercover right now; I'm a whore" - because he lets her off the hook and the two start dating.

"He May Not Be My Soulmate But A Girl's Gotta Eat."

In the season 8 episode, "The One Where Joey Tells Rachel", Phoebe believes that she's met Monica's soulmate, a British man named Don, who "works with food". Much to Chandler's dismay, Phoebe introduces Don and Monica.

Nothing happens between them, of course, and Phoebe continues to date Don, which Chandler questions and Phoebe answers, "he may not be my soulmate, but a girl gotta eat".
