In a recent interview, Peter Weber revealed he wouldn't be The Bachelor if Hannah Brown had asked him out after dumping him on The Bachelorette. In light of what we saw in the premiere of season 24, that admission makes sense.

Weber placed third on Brown's season of The Bachelorette, behind winner Jed Wyatt and runner-up Tyler Cameron. Once Brown realized she'd been lied to by Wyatt, she broke off the engagement and asked Cameron out at the finale. Weber was the odd one out, wondering why she didn't instead choose to give him a second chance. The renewed romance between Brown and Cameron was short-lived, but instead of reaching out to Weber, Brown decided to take some time to focus on herself. To be fair, Weber didn't contact Brown either, which the former Bachelorette simply assumed was because he wanted to be The Bachelor. It wasn't until Weber's journey on The Bachelor began that the two learned they still had feelings for one another. Both started to question whether they had made the right decision by not trying to make it work after the break-up.

In a recent interview with ET, Lauren Zima asked Weber, "So what if she had asked you out?" This refers to the time in between the end of The Bachelorette and start of the taping of the The Bachelor. Weber thought for a moment, and then, sure what he wanted to say but cognizant of the gravity of the statement, stumbled through his words. The 28-year-old pilot responded, "Uhh...it's weird to say, but...it's weird to say. If she would've [asked me out] I probably would've said yes and I probably wouldn't have been The Bachelor."

Zima followed up with the question, "Would you and Hannah be together right now?" To this, Weber was able to leave more of an open-ended answer. He countered, "You never know. The world may never know." It is true that Weber truly didn't know at the time whether passing up a chance to date Brown would turn out well for his future, considering the flood of women he would be going out with as The Bachelor.

Weber likely has an idea now if telling The Bachelor no thanks and running off into the sunset with Brown would have been a good move. The premiere ended with Brown and Weber in a stalemate, unsure how to proceed in their respective journeys. Hopefully, by the end of all this, Weber has settled on an answer, so that both of them can move forward and find happiness.
