Pete Davidson has yet again been absent from Saturday Night Liveprompting many to wonder if he has left the show. Pete Davidson has become one of SNL's most well-known current cast members, thanks to a great deal of media coverage regarding his personal life and his relationship with Kim Kardashian. Davidson and Kardashian made their relationship public in November 2021, which in turn has prompted a public feud between Davidson and Kardashian's ex-husband, Ye (formerly Kanye West).

Outside of his relationship with Kim Kardashian, Davidson's star has been rising in recent years. After a starring role in The King of Staten Island, Pete Davidson followed up by appearing as Blackguard in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad in 2021, and as the voice of Marmaduke in the animated Netflix film of the same name. However, in the months following Davidson's regular appearance in headlines due to his relationship with Kim Kardashian, he has been absent from Saturday Night Live numerous times, causing concerns that he may be looking to leave the long-running sketch show.

Though Davidson has been absent from a number of episodes in recent months, there is no indication that he has left Saturday Night Live. In fact, Davidson's previous absences from SNL in the earlier months of 2022 were due to scheduling conflicts, as he was filming for the horror thriller The Home, set for release in 2023. As Pete Davidson is busy working on numerous upcoming projects, it's reasonable to assume that his absence can most likely be attributed to these.

As well as The Home, Davidson recently appeared at the Netflix is a Joke comedy festival, where he performed a stand-up set in which he made light of recent headlines involving his ongoing public feud with Ye. In addition, he is also set to appear in an upcoming biopic titled I Slept With Joey Ramone, starring Davidson as the titular musician. Any of these projects could potentially be responsible for Pete Davidson's most recent absence from SNL.

However, the long-time cast member has hinted that he may soon be seeking to leave Saturday Night Live. Pete Davidson has previously said that he's "ready to hang up the jersey". Though there's no exact indication that this is Davidson's current intention, his increasing involvement in other projects has already started taking him away from his regular appearance on SNL, making it seem all the more plausible. Whether or not Pete Davidson is actually leaving Saturday Night Live isn't confirmed, but his absence from the show certainly seems to indicate that he's becoming increasingly busy pursuing other unrelated projects.
