During the game, the player will have several opportunities to build relationships with friends and mutual. Through social links, players can go on dates, participate in games, complete tasks, and learn more about the backstories for these characters. The neat aspect around building these relationships is the abilities that come along the way from crafting them. These abilities can help players in the TV world by offering assists in combat, stat boosts, or stronger Personas. Certain character's social links are connected to specific Persona. So if the player has a specific Arcana that matches the character, the relationship will build even faster.

Here is how players can unlock every Social Link in the game for each character. This will also explain which Arcana is required to boost relations faster.

  • Aeon (Marie): Speak to Marie on 4/18 in the Velvet Room
  • Chariot (Chie): Speak to Chie on 4/18
  • Death (Hisano): The player will need the Devil Social Link to Rank 4. After, speak to Hisano at the Flood Plains on Sunday
  • Emperor (Kanji): Speak to the girl at the stairs at School on 6/9. After, speak with Kanji
  • Empress (Margeret): Speak to Magaret in the Velvet Room After 5/19. The player will need to have Level 3 Knowledge
  • Fool (Investigation Team): Finish Yukiko's Castle
  • Fortune (Naoto): The player will need Max Courage and Knowledge. Speak to the man in black in the Shopping District after 10/21. After, go back to school and speak with Naoto.
  • Hanged Man (Naoki): The Player will need Rank 3 Understanding. Speak with Naoki three times after 6/8
  • Hermit (Fox): Talk with Fox at Tatsuhime Shrine on 5/5
  • Hierophant (Dojima): Talk to Dojima on 5/6
  • Jester (Adachi): Find Adachi at Junes after 5/13. Choose "Hung out with Adachi"
  • Judgment (Seekers of Truth): Begins on 12/3
  • Justice (Nanako): Speak to Nanako on 5/3
  • Lovers (Rise): Speak to Rise on 7/23
  • Magician (Yosuke): Speak to Yosuke on 4/16
  • Moon (Ai): Reach Level 4 Strength and speak to Ai at School.
  • Priestess (Yukiko): Speak to Yukiko on 5/17
  • Star (Teddie): Speak to Teddie on 6/24
  • Strength (Kou): Player will need to join the Basketball Club after 4/19
  • Strength (Daisuke): Player will need to join the Soccer Club after 4/19

  • Strength (Ayane): Player will need to join the Band Club after 4/25
  • Temperance (Eri): After 4/23, start working at the Daycare Center

These social links provide the player with much to do outside of the main story modePersona 4 Golden is a title that rewards its player for exploring with every nook and cranny.
