Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1 is a wrap ahead of its scheduled 2024 release, and a new behind-the-scenes video has been shared of series star Walker Scobell. The series is set to follow Percy as he leads a quest across the country to prevent a war among the Olympian gods.In a behind-the-scenes video shared by Percy Jackson and the Olympians creator Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson star Walker Scobell channels his Poseidon parentage and shares that production on season 1 of the Disney+ show has wrapped. Riordan previously shared his thoughts on the series, saying that the show gets better and better with every episode he had seen to that point. The creator seems to be very proud with how things are going as they attempt to properly adapt the great source material for a second time. Percy Jackson's Underwater Scenes Look Like They Will Be Incredible

Rick Riordan's underwater behind-the-scenes video is a perfect way to tease what will likely be a water-soaked Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney+. The Percy Jackson creator has teased the underwater sequences in the film as being pretty dramatic and intense. The show underwent a tricky process of getting all the shots right, which is reminiscent of another Disney franchise, Avatar. James Cameron utilized some incredible technology and methods to film Avatar: The Way of Water. Since Disney is overseeing both productions, it stands to reason that Percy Jackson and the Olympians could be a stunning viewing experience.

It's only appropriate that the show's underwater scenes be treated with great care, as Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon, the trident-wielding god of the sea. In addition to the spectacle that Avatar: The Way of Water was, the recent Disney production Andor is another reason to be excited. The critically acclaimed Star Wars series looked phenomenal thanks to its blend of shooting in different locations across the world and heavy dousing of post-production flair. If Percy Jackson and the Olympians can combine the best of both worlds, there should be zero complaints about how the underwater portions look.

Everything We Know About Percy Jackson Season 1

Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1 will focus on the novel The Lightning Thief, which is the first book in the Percy Jackson series. Based on that, the show should pick up with Percy learning of his parentage and the powers that come along with it. Then, he will be forced to deal with Zeus, the god of the sky, after the god accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. The rest of season 1 should be about Percy's journey across America to get the lightning bolt back and restore order to the gods. The new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is said to be a fresh start after the poor reception of the original Percy Jackson movies. The show will hit Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.
