Pedro Pascal has confirmed his interest in appearing in the MCU, and Marvel's X-Men could have the perfect role for the actor. Many actors have expressed interest in MCU roles over the years, and some fan-castings have even seen a payoff in previous Marvel Studios projects, such as the debut of John Krasinski as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With mutants slowly being introduced to the MCU, and the formation of the X-Men just around the corner, many are wondering which actors Marvel Studios will cast as some of Marvel Comics' most iconic superhero characters.

Now, Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal has thrown his hat in the ring, stating in an interview with WIRED that he'd love to get the call from Marvel Studios. Pedro Pascal's interest in the MCU has caused many to speculate about which role would be perfect for The Mandalorian star, who played the titular role of Din Djarin, a.k.a. the Mandalorian, in the Star Wars franchise, and the doomed Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. Pascal would be perfect for the MCU, and could potentially bring to life one hero that was never seen in the previous Fox X-Men franchise.

Pedro Pascal Has A Perfect X-Men MCU Role

While both Scott and Alex Summers were featured in Fox's X-Men films, operating as the heroes Cyclops and Havoc, respectively, their father, Major Christopher Summers, never made an appearance. Separated from his young sons while flying in their private airplane, Summers found himself and his wife imprisoned by the Shi'ar Empire, one of the three major extraterrestrial empires in Marvel's continuity, alongside the Kree and the Skrulls. The Shi'ar killed Summers' wife, leading Summers to form the Starjammers with four other alien prisoners, becoming the hero known as Corsair.

In his recent projects, Pascal has seemed to take on the father-figure role, particularly in The Mandalorian and HBO's adaptation of The Last of Us, which makes Corsair the perfect role for him in the MCU. Corsair's MCU debut could open the door for the introduction of the X-Men, as his son, Cyclops, is regularly seen as a member of the mutant team. Pascal is certainly talented enough to take on the charismatic Corsair, but he also looks the part, as the Marvel character sports a trademark mustache that is mirrored perfectly in Pascal's own style.

Why The MCU Needs Pedro Pascal

Despite having an impressive filmography, Pedro Pascal has usually appeared only in bit-parts or singular episodes, rarely taking on a main role in his projects, aside from those in The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and Netflix's Narcos. This means that Marvel Studios can skyrocket Pascal into a much more significant role, particularly if his character is intrinsically tied to the MCU's official X-Men team. This is something that has been tried and tested in the MCU as several lesser-known actors have become household names because of their involvement in the franchise, so the MCU can benefit Pascal just as much as his inclusion would benefit the franchise.
