Pedro Pascal’s role as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian has made him an invaluable part of the Star Wars franchise, yet he will most likely not show his face again until after season 4. Throughout The Mandalorian, Din Djarin shows his face extremely rarely, as he is a member of the Mandalorian sub-culture known as the Children of the Watch, who forbid removing their helmets in front of others. In three key moments in The Mandalorian’s first two seasons, however, Djarin removes his helmet, with the latter two instances affecting the plot of season 3.

Din Djarin was both an apostate and the new (yet reluctant) leader of the Mandalorians in The Book of Boba Fett and the early episodes of The Mandalorian season 3. Rather than Djarin question the customs of the Children of the Watch cult or perhaps even use his newfound authority to enact changes to their rules, he simply reinstates his Mandalorian status through redemption and rejoins the group's ranks, never once removing his helmet in season 3. Pascal will probably not appear outside of a voiceover role in The Mandalorian season 4, but this does not mean that he will not show his face again in another Star Wars property.

Pedro Pascal Seems Unlikely To Appear In The Mandalorian Season 4

In a recent interview, Pascal noted that his role as Din Djarin has become more of a voiceover role than a physical one, due to the discomfort of wearing an armored suit for months of filming. This likely explains part of why The Mandalorian season 3 avoided having Djarin question or change the customs of the Children of the Watch, but it also has further ramifications. Wherever The Mandalorian season 4 takes Din Djarin, it is highly unlikely that he will unmask and show his face.

Pedro Pascal Appearing In The Mandalorian Movie Is More Likely

There is, however, one property with a far more likely chance of including a physical performance by Pascal as Din Djarin. An untitled The Mandalorian movie directed by co-creator Dave Filoni will tie all previous live-action Star Wars TV shows from the New Republic Era together, possibly serving as a loose adaptation of the Legends continuity’s Thrawn Trilogy, as well. Din Djarin is sure to have a major role in the film and perhaps show his face once more.

Pascal may be finished with his lead role in The Last of Us by the time filming for Filoni’s movie begins, which would significantly free his schedule and allow for a physical performance as Din Djarin. Moreover, Filoni’s film will have a story on a larger scale than The Mandalorian, as it will be a crossover of multiple TV projects, perhaps necessitating the star power of Pascal himself and an in-universe reason for Din Djarin to unmask again. While viewers should not expect to see Pascal’s face as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian season 4, there is a far greater chance of seeing him in Filoni’s Star Wars movie.
