The Rooftops level is the second to last section in The Pedestrian and features six main puzzles that players need to solve in order to get the necessary items to move on. As with each new section in The Pedestrian, the Rooftops level has a new mechanic: players can freeze a panel with a paint spray that allows them to save changes even when an area is reset. This mechanic is featured in every Rooftops puzzle, but it can be difficult to use when players first start out in this area.

This 2D platforming puzzle game includes increasingly difficult levels, such as the Alley section in The Pedestrian. The mechanics in the game are cumulative, meaning players will need to use more features in the game the more they progress. The Rooftops level includes every type of solution and mechanic introduced in previous levels as well as the new panel paint. Players will need to solve six major puzzles to move on to the finale in The Pedestrian.

Before getting to the main panel in the Rooftops level, players will be introduced to the spray paint. This mechanic works so that the panel attached to the green paint dispenser will be saved even when the area is reset. In the first area, players can attach the paint to the panel with one door and a striped wall. Players will also need to attach the starting panel to the painted one, then head through. Now, players can attach the painted panel to the exit panel, solving this puzzle in The Pedestrian.

From the first painted panel puzzle, there's a linear path that leads to a number pad with a note showing the code: 399. Players can enter the code, then move on through the exit. The next panel has an exit that leads to another paint puzzle. Players will need to use the paint on the panel with the switch first, then connect the starting panel to the painted panel, flip the switch, and head back to the start. Players can now connect the starting panel to the exit panel and use the jumping platform to exit. The next few panels have more jumping platforms for players to use to reach the next paint puzzle.

In the next area, players will have two panels and two paint connections. To start, players can connect the paint to the exit panel and flip the switch in the starting panel. Next, players can position the window in the starting panel under the laser in the exit panel, go through it, then reset the puzzle by connecting and disconnecting the paint spray to the starting panel. Players should then be able to access the exit and move on to the next puzzle in The Pedestrian.

There are two more introductory paint puzzles players need to solve before reaching the main panel for the Rooftops level. The first has three panels with a series of doors and one paint connection. First, players need to connect the bottom right door on the starting panel to the panel on the right side. Once in that panel, players can paint it, and connect it to the small panel on the left. Players will need to change the paint to the left panel, then connect back to the starting panel to reach the exit.

In the last introductory paint puzzle, players need to paint the key panel, then connect the starting panel to it and grab the key. Players can then reset by connecting to the panel with the switch, then moving the paint to that panel as well. While still carrying the key, players can go back to the starting panel, then connect to the switch panel using the door on the opposite side. Players can hit the switch, go back to the starting panel, then enter the switch panel on the opposite side. Finally, players can connect to the exit panel and use the jumping platform to reach the exit and solve this puzzle in The Pedestrian. There is a small series of panels that follow a straightforward path leading to the main panel, so players can keep going through the exit doors until they reach the big wooden panel with multiple paths. Each path has two paint puzzles for players to solve, and they can start by going to the bottom left corner of the panel where the key is located.

The Pedestrian: Rooftops - Key Puzzles

When players first enter the key area, they will see two paths: one for the key, and one for a box that lets players get the key to the exit. Players can go to the right and get the box first. To reach the box, players can connect the paint to the switch panel, then use the upper right door in the starting panel to reach the painted one. Players can then switch the path to the lower right door on the starting panel, then drag the box through to the painted panel to reach the switch and get closer to solving this difficult puzzle in The Pedestrian. Next, players can reset the box by disconnecting the door, then reconnect and push the box onto the jumping platform. Finally, players will be able to connect the paint to the starting panel to save the box's position, then push it through the exit door. Players can then position the box underneath the four dotted platforms, then head through the door that leads to the key.

To start, players can connect the starting panel to the long panel with two ladders and a locked door. Then players will need to connect the upper ladder to the key panel and unlock the door. Next, players can go down the lower ladder into the larger panel with doors on both sides. Players can use the paint on that panel, then reposition the other panels so the exit panel is to the left and the panel with the locked door is to the right. Next, players will be able to go to the right, climb the ladder to get the key, then follow the path to the exit. Once players exit, they will be able to bring the key back to the main panel using the box they obtained in the previous puzzle in The Pedestrian. The key can be used to unlock the door above the jumping platform, then players can hit the switch to unlock the doors that lead to the fan and coil.

The Pedestrian: Rooftops - Fan Puzzles

The panel with the fan has two paths for keys that can be opened by hitting the switch in the middle of the panel. Players can jump up and go through the door for the upper left key first. There are five panels for this puzzle, but one is blocked off by a metal bar that needs to be retracted. The panel with the coil can be connected to the two ports in the upper left, and the panel that's blocked should be connected to the paint. Players can reach the blocked panel using the ladder in the starting one. After going down the ladder, players can hit the switch, then climb back up, and disconnect the ladders to reset the puzzle. Players will then be able to strategically solve this puzzle and reach the coil using the window in the starting panel. Then players can connect the two ports with the coil. Once the blocked panel is freed, players will not need to use the panel with the coil and ports again, so they can reset the puzzle and focus on getting the key.

Once the area is reset, players can connect the ladder in the starting panel to the small square one, then connect the paint to the small panel as well. Players can go down the ladder, flip the switch, then go back up and use the window to reach the bottom portion of the panel with the now deactivated laser. Next, players can connect to the key panel and go through the door to collect it. Players will need to drop the key in the laser panel, then paint that panel to save the key's position. After resetting the puzzle, players will need to deactivate the laser again, then grab the key by going through the door from the starting panel. Players can go back through the door and down the ladder to exit with the key. The first door can be unlocked for this puzzle in The Pedestrian, then players can go through the other door to reach the last key.

In this area, players can connect the starting panel to the two other panels with ladders. Players will need to go down first to deactivate the laser, then go up both ladders to reach the key. While holding the key, players can paint the large panel, then go up to the door and connect it to the starting panel. Next, players will need to push the box through to the large panel so it's in front of the laser, which is still deactivated at this point. Lastly, players can connect the painted panel to the exit panel, then pull the box through the door to reach the exit while holding the key. Players can use the key to open the final door that leads to the fan, then bring the fan back to the main panel. The fan can then be placed in one of the circles on the console by climbing down the ladder. The last item players will need to obtain is the coil, so they can go back up the ladder and go through the door on the right.

The Pedestrian: Rooftops - Coil Puzzles

The Pedestrian Rooftops Puzzle Solutions Coil Puzzle

In order to obtain the coil and find the solution for the puzzle in the Rooftops level of The Pedestrian, players will need to visit two areas to obtain boxes to stack. Players can go through the door on the right to get the first box. There are four panels and two paint connections in this area. One paint sprayer can be connected to the panel with a door, a switch, and a horizontal line going through the top half. The other should be connected to the panel with the switch that's on a high platform. In the large panel, players can connect the lower right door to the first painted panel, then go through it and flip the switch to turn off one of the lasers. Players can then connect the starting panel to the other painted panel, then push the box through to reach the switch.

After going back to the large panel, players can grab the key and bring it back into the panel they were just in. Players will need to drop the key, then push the box back to the large panel, and connect the bottom right door to the panel they haven't visited yet. After going into the new panel, players can hit the switch, then move the paint from the first painted panel, the one without the key, and connect it to the new panel. Next, players can go back to the large panel, connect it to the key panel, then grab the key and use the activated jumping platform to reach the locked door. Players will now be able to push the box through the exit and move it onto the jumping platform in the panel with the coil, which is the first step to solving the puzzle in this area.

The puzzle for the box on the left has four panels. Players can connect the paint to the two smaller ones to start, then use the doors to connect these two panels. The laser in the larger panel can be turned off by using the switch in the small one, then players can go back to the starting panel. Next, players can connect the start to the largest panel. After falling past the laser, players will need to pause and rearrange the panels so the large room is painted and the small panel is disconnected, which resets the switch so players can continue solving the puzzle in this area of The Pedestrian. Players can then use the ladder to reach the other panel and move the box over the dotted line. The paint can then be connected to the panel with the box instead of the large panel. After the reset, players will be able to flip the switch then connect to the box panel from the starting one. Finally, players can push the box through to the exit, then line it up on the jumping platform so it stacks on top of the first box. Players can grab the coil and go back to the main panel.

With the coil in hand, players can connect the two ports so that they feed power to the console that players put the fan into. Doing so should open the path to the ladder at the top of the panel where players can exit this area. The path will lead back to the keypad players used to enter the Rooftops level, but a new code will be on the wall: 444. Entering the code will give players access to the last level. Players can pick up the camera in the next panel, climb down the ladder, and place it in the console, then start the Finale for The Pedestrian.
