Peacemaker star Jennifer Holland adds to the hype surrounding episode 6, calling it even better than the massive finale. DC fans knew they were in for a treat when Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn signed on to direct The Suicide Squad, but it's only truly become clear now how big of a boon that hiring was. Even before The Suicide Squad debuted in theaters, Gunn had developed a spin-off series centered around Peacemaker (John Cena), a peace-obsessed killer with little to no morals. Fast-forward to today, when Peacemaker kicked off its run last week and has already received immense praise from fans and critics alike.

Peacemaker picks up with the anti-hero, also known as Christopher Smith, as he's reluctantly recruited for another team for a new world-saving mission. His team, while perhaps not as eccentric as The Suicide Squad's Task Force X, is an interesting mix of those with similar morals (like the trigger-happy Vigilante) and agents with genuinely good intentions (like Holland's Emilia Harcourt). So far, Peacemaker has only released 4 out of 8 episodes, but some fans might already be looking ahead to two weeks from now.

According to Holland, Peacemaker episode 6 is the one to watch. Screen Rant recently got the opportunity to speak with her about the HBO Max series, and she singled out episode 6 as the one she's most excited for fans to see. Much has been said about Peacemaker's finale, particularly since very few people have seen it. However, Holland said the sixth installment is even more special. She explained:

My favorite episode is episode six. The finale is a really incredible episode, I love the finale, but episode six, there's so many important things that happen for so many of the character arcs. Everyone really gets a good character arc. There's one character arc that doesn't really come full circle until episode eight, but a lot of character arcs come to some crescendo to some degree or hit a climax in that episode and it's just such a wonderful nuanced episode. It was the last episode that we shot and James directed it. I think everyone was just in their element. Everyone had really gotten as comfortable as possible with the characters by that point. James had gotten as comfortable as possible with himself and knowing what he was doing with the show, and everything just kind of flowed and it is, I think, the most beautifully nuanced episode in the series, myself.

Peacemaker in a meeting

Peacemaker episode 6 already had an asterisk next to it for many people because Gunn had called it his favorite one of the season. The most he's said about it, though, is that it holds a special place in his heart. Holland's explanation for why episode 6 is the best digs deeper into why fans should be excited for it, and it sounds like there are a lot of things working in its favor. Numerous Peacemaker arcs will reach satisfying points, and behind the scenes, everyone seems to have been working at the top of their game.

Based on Peacemaker's release schedule, episode 6 will arrive on Thursday, February 3. That means anyone who hasn't started watching has plenty of time to catch up before the highly-anticipated installment drops. After that, it'll just be two weeks until the Peacemaker finale, which Gunn has gone to great lengths to keep a secret. It sounds like it's down to episodes 6 and 8 to be the highlights of season 1, and it'll be very interesting to see which one comes out on top.
