A sequel to the recent PAW Patrol: The Movie has officially been confirmed, and it’s aiming for an September 2023 release. The PAW Patrol media franchise has taken the world of children’s entertainment by storm since the original series debuted in 2013. The Canadian-produced cartoon, created by Spin Master Entertainment, has been running for eight seasons on Nickelodeon in the US. It follows Ryder, a young boy who leads a search and rescue team of heroic emergency service dogs known as the PAW Patrol. The series has gained massive popularity across the world, resulting in mass merchandising.
PAW Patrol: The Movie, the big-screen debut for the famous canine heroes, hit theaters in August 2021 and was something of a sleeper hit for Spin Master and Nickelodeon Movies. The film, distributed by Paramount, made an estimated $135 million at the worldwide box office. A big success for all involved, the film also debuted simultaneously on Paramount+, where executives reckon families watched it an average of three times per household. With such a successful theatrical debut, it was no surprise that Nick and Spin Master would be keen to get a sequel into production.

The PAW Patrol sequel is not opening exclusively in theaters on September 29, 2023, moving up two weeks from its originally scheduled October 13, 2023 release date. Original article continues below.
First reported by THR, the companies behind the first film announced that PAW Patrol is getting a sequel movie, and it will be heading exclusively to theaters on October 13, 2023. Paramount will again distribute the sequel, titled PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. In the film, the PAW Patrol will find themselves gifted with superpowers after a meteor crashes its way into Adventure City. The superhero animals are forced into action when their arch enemy Humdinger breaks out of jail, and they form The Mighty Pups to stop him.
As well as the new sequel movie, Nickelodeon and Spin Master also announced a spinoff series for the TV show is in development. The yet-unnamed PAW Patrol spinoff will focus on one of the fan-favorite members of the team and is also set to debut sometime in 2023. Thus, the PAW Patrol franchise expands even further with more movies, more spinoffs, and likely more toys. Meanwhile, the original show is still running strong and was renewed for a 9th season.
Fans of PAW Patrol will be thrilled to hear more adventures from the heroic pups are on the way. The hugely popular pre-school show continues to produce toys and games by the bucket load, making it a marketing sensation for the show’s producers. With superheroes the blockbuster trend in movies these days, family audiences will be keen to see what happens when the beloved PAW Patrol pups get their taste of crime-fighting action in the PAW Patrol: The Movie sequel.
