Alicia Silverstone has taken to TikTok to react to her former Clueless co-star Paul Rudd being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Rudd, who is shortly set to appear in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, made his acting debut in the '90s television drama Sisters before leaving the role to make his motion picture debut alongside Silverstone in the cult-film Clueless. He also went on to join the cast of 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, playing an older version of Tommy Doyle, the same boy babysat by Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode in the original 1978 horror slasher.
In more recent years, after being cast in a series of comedies like 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, and Knocked Up, Rudd joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Scott Lang in 2015’s Ant-Man. Last week, the 52-year-old actor was officially crowned 2021’s People’s Sexiest Man Alive, beating out his Marvel co-star Chris Evans who was rumored to be the front runner for the title. Upon hearing the news Rudd reacted humorously, suggesting he was “hoping now that I'll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with [George] Clooney and [Brad] Pitt and [Michael] B Jordan”.
With the news out of the bag, a number of Rudd’s friends and colleagues have taken to social media to offer their congratulations, one of the most recent being the leading lady from his first film. Taking to TikTok, Silverstone shared a clip from the 1995 film where her character first realizes that she’s in love with Rudd’s character Josh, with the caption: “POV: Cher Finds Out People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2021”. Silverstone also commented on the post: “I mean… Cher’s been saying he is a kind of a Baldwin since 1995”, a reference to a line from the film. Check out Silverstone's video, below:

Silverstone’s post isn’t the only amusing reaction to Rudd’s recent crown, with 2010’s former holder of the title Ryan Reynolds previously offering his own witticisms about the decision on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Reynolds joked that the decision seemingly came from Rudd’s inability to age “because of his contract with Satan, or he only drinks breast milk from a blue whale or something”. Like Keanu Reeves, Rudd’s ability to maintain his youthful looks has widely been the source of many jokes and comments by fans over the years.
With Clueless widely considered to be the film responsible for launching Rudd into the public eye, it seems fitting that his former co-star would use a clip from the film to react to the news. While many of Rudd’s younger fans may not be able to separate him from his role as Ant-Man in the MCU, for those who grew up throughout the '90s he will always be remembered as the ex-step brother who Silverstone's Cher was “totally butt crazy in love with”. No doubt many of Rudd’s older fans will be celebrating the announcement with a Clueless watch party.
