Michael Giacchino, a film composer known for his work in films like Jurassic World and the upcoming The Batman, revealed that he is working on a film with British singer-songwriter Paul McCartney, former member of The Beatles. Giacchino has been working in film composing since 2001, and has recently released his debut solo album, Travelogue: Volume 1. Similarly, McCartney has also teased that his new album, McCartney III, may be available to listeners very soon. Both Giacchino and McCartney are globally renowned musicians, with multiple Academy Awards and Grammys between the two of them.

In an interview with Slashfilm, Giacchino confirmed that he is currently working on an animated movie with Paul McCartney. He disclosed that the pair had been working on the film for a number of years, and that McCartney personally reached out to Giacchino to invite him onto the project. Though Giacchino didn’t clarify the title of the movie, fans are speculating that he could be alluding to McCartney’s High in the Clouds, which has been picked up by Netflix and French television studio Gaumont.

High in the Clouds is an animated feature based on McCartney’s novel of the same name, which he co-wrote with Philip Ardagh and Geoff Dunbar. The whimsical children’s story follows a squirrel named Wirral as he searched for a sanctuary after humans destroyed his Woodland home. Based on Giacchino’s experience with emotional, meaningful children’s films, it sounds like he would be a perfect addition to the project. Giacchino also cited that he has worked with McCartney before and is very impressed with his breadth of work, so it certainly sounds plausible for Giacchino to develop one of McCartney’s original stories with him.

Netflix has not yet shared any information regarding Giacchino’s involvement on High in the Clouds or the film’s release date. The official logline for High in the Clouds reads: An imaginative teenage squirrel named Wirral finds himself pulled into a ramshackle gang of teenage rebels who live high in the clouds after he accidentally antagonizes Gretsch the owl, the tyrannical leader (and fabulous singer!), who steals the voice of anyone who upstages her.
