Paul Dano has been cast in Steven Spielberg's upcoming autobiographical movie. The untitled film will be inspired off of Spielberg's childhood in Arizona and will be co-written by Spielberg and Tony Kushner, who are both also producing along with Kristie Macosko Krieger. Dano has had a long, extensive career with many knowing him from his early roles in Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood. He later went on to have main roles in 12 Years a Slave, Prisoners, and Love & Mercy, and received an Emmy nomination for Escape at Dannemora.

Deadline now reports that Dano is the latest addition to the cast of Spielberg's movie playing a character loosely based on Spielberg's father. Dano joins a cast that includes Michelle Williams, playing a character based on Spielberg's mother, and Seth Rogen, playing a character based on Spielberg's favorite uncle. The film will be produced by Spielberg's film production company, Amblin Entertainment, and will start shooting this summer with a planned release in 2022.

With the addition of Dano, fans will now have another movie of his to look forward to as the actor will also star in the upcoming superhero film, The Batman, as The Riddler. This will also mark the first time that Spielberg will write his own movie since A.I. Artificial Intelligence, due to its personal nature. The rest of the cast, such as the roles of the children, have yet to be announced, including the one who will play the character inspired by Spielberg himself, but with Dano, Williams, and Rogen headlining, the movie has all the components of becoming a hit with audiences and for fans to learn more about Spielberg's past.
