The console versions of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous have officially been delayed to Autumn 2022. This is the second time that the console ports of Wrath of the Righteous have been delayed, as they were initially set to launch in Autumn 2021, but were pushed back to March 1, 2022.

Wrath of the Righteous is an RPG that uses the 1e Pathfinder tabletop RPG ruleset. The story is set in the fantasy world of Golarion from the Pathfinder game. In Golarion, there is a location called the Worldwound, where the boundaries between reality and the Abyss are weak. On the day the main character arrives in the city of Kenabres, it falls to a horde of demons that emerge from the Worldwound. The main character is granted the power of a Mythic Pathfinder hero, and they become the leader of the Fifth Crusade, whose goal is it wipe out the demon army and try and close the Worldwound once and for all.

Wrath of the Righteous was originally intended to launch on PS4 and Xbox One on March 1, with the game also being playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S through backward compatibility. Unfortunately, the console versions have been pushed back. Developer Owlcat Games has announced that the console ports of Wrath of the Righteous will now launch in Autumn 2022. The developer has said that the console versions still need extra work, as does the PC version of the game.

All Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Companions

It's not all bad news for Wrath of the Righteous, as the PC version of the game has just received some free DLC, in the form of "A Visitor from Distant Lands." This DLC gives players a sovereign dragon, which will give them a bonus to Knowledge and Lore checks. The first paid DLC has also received a release date, as "Inevitable Excess" will launch on February 15 and can be purchased on its own or part of Wrath of the Righteous' Season Pass. It was previously revealed that this DLC will feature a 7-8 hour adventure, where the player travels beyond the boundaries of reality and faces their most powerful foe yet.

The delay of the console ports of Wrath of the Righteous isn't surprising, considering that the PC version still needs work. The patches have greatly improved the quality of Wrath of the Righteous since launch, but the game still needs work, and will probably need even more work once all of the DLC is available. Console gamers will have to get their Pathfinder fix from Kingmaker for the time being.
