Parks and Recreation is a series with so much to offer. For one, it has brilliantly unique characters. From the golden retriever-esque Mouse Rat singer to the waffle-obsessed boss, everyone on this show is instantly loveable. Even Jerry!

What makes these characters shine the most comes from the relationships they have with one another. Whether it's the everlasting admiration Leslie has for Anne or the luxurious pamper sessions shared between Tom and Donna, the friendships formed over the course of the series are so adorable and admirable that we had to track down the best quotes about friendship in Parks and Rec history. So without further ado, here are some friendship quotes on P&R that will instantly make you want to text your BFF in order to tell them what a "beautiful tropical fish" they are.

"I NEED YOU TO TEXT ME EVERY 30 SECONDS SAYING THAT EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY"

Leslie and Ann have the kind of friendship that we all aspire to possess. It seems as though our best friends have magical powers that work to get us through all of the hard times, and this is certainly the case for these two BFFs on Parks and Rec. Some may call their friendship unhealthy due to their complete lack of boundaries, but we just call it beautiful because we want to spend every second of every day with our favorite person in the world just like Anne and Leslie. There is nothing more valuable than friendship... with the exception of waffles, maybe.

When it comes to our closest BFFs, the word "boundaries" just doesn't exist.

"LESS MAN TIME, MORE ANN TIME"

What a perfect quote to honor friendship above anything else in this world. When it comes down to it, our BFF is our true soulmate, and nobody knows this better than Leslie Knope.

Sometimes when we find ourselves in a romantic relationship we tend to push aside our platonic relationships without meaning to. It just happens sometimes. Yet for Leslie and Ann, this will never be the case. The two will always set aside time for each other because they truly understand the value (and beauty) of their friendship.

"I ACTUALLY CARE WHETHER YOU'RE HAVING A GOOD TIME AND ARE HAPPY. IT'S WEIRD"

You know these words mean a whole lot when they're coming from April Ludgate. April, the death-obsessed aloof girl on Parks and Rec who would rather summon the evil spirits than engage in human interaction. If this girl says something remotely nice to you (without even throwing in an insult), you know she truly means it.

Seeing April grow into a more caring and warm person throughout the series is extremely rewarding to watch because it is all the result of the friendships she has created throughout the years that have shaped her into a more mature and loving individual. (Except for Jerry/Larry/Garry/Terry. He didn't do anything to shape her).

"TRAGICALLY, WE ARE BOTH HETEROSEXUAL"

Although Ann and Leslie would make the perfect couple in another world because they are both so freakin' in love with each other, Leslie points out how they are "tragically" both heterosexual. While Leslie and Ann end up happily ever after with incredible life partners, we all know the true romance on Parks and Rec comes from these two BFFs who text each other every second of the day and dedicate entire scrapbooks to their friendship (well- at least Leslie does).

Leslie and Ann always make us smile whenever they're on screen together and it is- literally - the sweetest bond we've ever seen. (If you didn't read that last sentence in Chris Traeger's voice, are you really even a P&R fan?).

"ANN, YOU POETIC AND NOBEL LAND MERMAID"

Sometimes after being friends with somebody for an extended period of time, we can often take their friendship for granted. Because we usually spend all of our time with them, it's easy to lose sight of how much our friends mean to us.

This is simply not the case for Leslie Knope. Although Leslie sees Anne every single day at work, she is consistently mesmerized with Anne Perkins and all of her beautiful tropic fish glory. Now that is a true friend right there. A friend who always wants to lift you up instead of tear you down is the kind of person that you want to hold on tightly to until the end of time.

"EVERYONE NEEDS A FRIEND THEY CAN CALL AND WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT"

"...Leslie's usually already up... and often she's usually on her way over."

Anne says this quote with Leslie in mind, and it makes us light up with joy. True friends are the ones who are there for you whenever you need them and vice versa. Having a bad day at work? Your friend will make you feel better. Got dumped by your date?

Your BFF will not only make you feel better but they will treat you to an even better date. Your best friend knows you inside and out, and will always be there for you because that's the whole point of friendship! True friends are just a phone call away, and nobody knows this quite like Ms.Knope.

"WHAT DO YOU SAY YOU AND I RIDE GO-KARTS LATER?"

John Ralphio: I like your energy, Hombre! What do you say you and I ride go-karts later?

Craig: I want to go HORSEBACK RIDING!

John Ralphio:...Deal...

When John Ralphio and Craig interact for the very first time, this is their exchange of words. If that isn't the beginning of the most epic and adorable friendship of all time, we don't know what is. Seriously, Parks and Rec is so good at writing adorable friendships that the series puts Friends to shame.

Who wouldn't want a friend who would so openly be willing to go go-karting or horseback riding with you simply because they dig your energy? Sounds like a dream scenario! Plus there is nothing more hilarious than imagining John Ralphio and Craig horseback riding together in the peaceful wilderness.

"WE NEED TO REMEMBER WHAT'S IMPORTANT IN LIFE: FRIENDS, WAFFLES, WORK"

leslie april

"Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn't matter, but work is third."

This is one of the most important quotes, not just in Parks and Rec, but in life. In fact, it is so important that we believe it should be engraved on a statue somewhere in Pawnee. Although it is so easy to get caught up in our work lives, when it comes down to it, the most important thing in life is the friendships you've formed over time. Well... waffles might be just as important, maybe even a little more so, but that's up for you to decide. Point is, jobs come and go, but waffles and friendship are forever!

"JUST REMEMBER EVERY TIME YOU LOOK UP AT THE MOON, I, TOO, WILL BE LOOKING UP AT A MOON"

andy april

"...Not the same moon, obviously. That's impossible..."

Andy says this line to April in an attempt to comfort the love of his life (who also happens to be his best friend in the whole world). Their relationship is so inspiring because the two of them are always lifting each other up and supporting each other regardless of how silly their actions might come across to the rest of the (saner) universe. Often times it feels like Andy and April are on their own little planet. A planet of which has multiple moons, tons of marshmallow gun fights, Burt Macklin/Janet Snakehole roleplay sessions, and frisbees for dinner plates.

Sounds like an awesome planet to us!

"I'VE KNOWN A LOT OF BALLERS IN MY DAY, BUT NO MAN BALLS HARDER THAN THE MAN IM ABOUT TO BRING UP"

Tom says this line to Ben in the final season when Tom attempts to give an opening speech in order to introduce Ben at the Gala. This exchange of words causes both Ben Wyatt and Tom Haverford to break into a manly sob fest which is honestly one of the most adorable and sweetest moments in Parks and Rec history.

When it comes down to it, this is a series that is all about the importance and beauty of friendship. Whether it's Leslie and Ann, Chris and Ben, or Tom and John Ralphio, all of these friendships have brought so much joy into our lives. What is your favorite friendship pairing on the show?
