Paris In Love has done more for Paris Hilton than showcase her life and relationship, and the star also admits the show has helped her heal. Before finding her current husband, Carter Reum, Paris has been open about a lot of her relationship struggles. The reality tv star has been engaged three times before her current husband but has never made it down the aisle. Paris has admitted that her trust issues were to blame, along with a lot of physical and emotional abuse she's faced in past relationships. But Paris saw something in Carter that she didn't see anyone else she's dated, and despite moments where even mother Kathy Hilton worried Paris would get cold feet, the pair tied the knot on November 11th, 2021.

While Paris has spent a lot of her life in the public eye, on September 14th, 2020, her documentary This Is Paris aired, and the star revealed something about herself no one had ever known before. The documentary focused on Paris's experience as a teenager when her parents sent her away to Provo Canyon School for behavioral issues. As a teenage socialite, the star often found herself in trouble. While her parents thought the school would help correct her behavior, the heiress instead faced severe abuse, including solitary confinement and being forced to take medication daily. Paris has been open about the trauma she still has from the experience and how it continues to affect her life.

Luckily for Paris, she has found healing in her Peacock series, Paris In Love. The star told the New York Post"It's just been such a healing experience. I finally know who I am. I had an amazing time shooting the show with my mom and spending time with her and my sister." Paris explained that after her documentary aired, it became easier for her to talk about her trauma, and it helped her learn more about herself. While she's struggled with trust and opening up to people in the past, the reality tv star says allowing Carter in has been an "incredible experience."

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton The Simple Life

From 2003-2007, Paris starred on The Simple Life alongside best friend Nicole Richie. On the show, Paris branded herself as a spoiled "dumb blonde" who couldn't do anything for herself and once asked someone if Walmart sold "wall stuff." She even spoke in her now-notorious baby voice despite her real voice being much deeper. Paris is very different in real life than she was on the show, and while part of her character was for entertainment, the star admits, "it was also kind of a mask, or a protective shield because I didn't trust anyone."

While Paris' The Simple Life character defined the early to mid-2000s inspiring girls everywhere to sport Juicy couture sweatsuits and carry tiny dogs everywhere they went, it's nice to know that she no longer as to wear a facade. Paris is far smarter than anyone has ever given her credit for, and now that she's free to be herself, the world is finally coming to know the intelligent businesswoman she has always been. The star has been through a lot and should be an inspiration for anyone who's wondering if they'll ever be able to overcome their own hardships. Fans may always cherish the early 2000s Paris, but her healing and happiness deserve to be her number one priority.
