Paris in Love star Paris Hilton is sending well wishes to her former friend Lindsay Lohan, as the actress recently announced she is engaged to Bader Shammas. Lindsey met her fiance in 2019 in Dubai, where the actress moved to in 2014. Bader keeps a low profile and is not a fellow celebrity; instead, he is a financer and currently works as an assistant vice president for Credit Suisse. Lindsay was previously engaged to Egor Tarabasov, a Russian businessman, but called it off in 2016.

Paris and Lindsay were tabloid royalty in the early to mid-2000s. The "it girls" were seen out at LA clubs on the regular alongside celebrities like Britney Spears and Nicole Richie. However, they had a falling out sometime around 2006 and caused a media frenzy making snide remarks about each other to the paparazzi. Rumors spread that Paris was upset that Lindsay was dating her ex-boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos, and the two quickly became the epitome of frenemies. Lindsay notoriously snubbed Paris, calling her an offensive term to the paparazzi, then denied it seconds later and claimed Paris was her friend. Then, there were the now-infamous photos of Paris, Britney, and Lindsay getting in a car together after a hotel party; Paris later explained Lindsay followed them into the car uninvited.

However, the newly married socialite seems to have put the drama of the 2000s media storm behind her as she took to her podcast This is Paris to congratulate her former frenemy on her engagement. On the podcast, Paris announced, "I also just saw that Lindsay got engaged, and I know we've had our differences in the past, but I just wanted to say congratulations to her and that I am genuinely very happy for her." Paris who is currently enjoying her honeymoon with husband Carter Reum realized it was recently the 15 year anniversary of the post-party photos of her, Britney, and Linsday squeezing into her car. The reality tv star took a few moments to reflect on her past and how much she's grown, stating most problems were caused by the media who "loved pitting women against each other."

Paris has been very vocal this year about the Free Britney movement, raising awareness for her old friend during her DJ sets at music festivals and via social media. She also celebrated Britney's freedom on Twitter and reportedly invited the star to her wedding. During the podcast episode, Paris mentioned how crazy it is to see 15 years later, Britney is freed and engaged, she's married, and Lindsay is also now engaged. The former The Simple Life star said "I love seeing just how different our lives are now and just how much we've all grown up and just having love in our lives."

The world has certainly evolved since the early aughts of the Paris and Lindsay drama and it's nice to see that the stars of the media show have moved on too. While fans may be nostalgic about the drama from 15 years ago, it seems Paris is more fascinated by the way everyone has grown, found themselves, and found true love. The star makes a good point about the media as well, the media, especially in the early 2000s thrived off pitting stars against each other and fabricating drama. But, Paris has taken power into her own hands and is letting everyone know she has forgiven her past frenemy and there are no hard feelings; it's nice to see the Paris in Love star has left the past behind.
