The time-hopping sci-fi series Paper Girls will debut on Prime Video this summer. The TV adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's acclaimed comic book comes from Legendary Television and Toy Story 4 co-writer Stephany Folsom, who stepped away from the show in summer 2021. A teaser recently showcased the live-action Paper Girls, four young newspaper delivery girls from Ohio who inexplicably get caught up in a war between two vicious groups of time-travelers the morning after Halloween.

Now, Legendary shares the official release date and the first exclusive images from the show. The tweet states, "The wait is OVER! Here's your first look at Legendary Television's next sci-fi adventure series [Paper Girls], coming July 29 to [Prime Video]." Whether or not fans will be able to binge the season that weekend is unclear as the studio does not provide an episode schedule. However, they share eight promotional stills that offer an excellent glimpse of the Paper Girls squad and one of their future counterparts. Check out the images below:

Two images feature Ali Wong as adult Erin, including one where she's speaking to her younger self, played by relative newcomer Riley Lai Nelet. The spotlight is crucial since a central element of the comic series revolves around the girls encountering their future selves and grappling with what they discover about the paths their lives took. The other images feature the girls from 1988 in action, including a shot of them running covered in blood, indicating that Paper Girls will stay pretty faithful to the more mature themes of Vaughan's creation.

Paper Girls premieres July 29 on Prime Video.
