Pamela stated that the babysitter would act sweet and loving in front of her parents while threatening her not to tell anyone behind closed doors. Pamela then reveals in the documentary that she attempted to kill the babysitter, saying, "I tried to stab her in the heart with a candy cane pen." The following day, the babysitter died in a car accident, which Pamela believed she had some how caused.

Following on from this, Pamela explains in Pamela, a Love Story that she was raped at 12 years old by a 25-year-old. Pamela describes the traumatic event briefly, stating that she found it hard to move on from the assault as it felt tattooed on her forehead.
