Here’s what happened to Uncle Miltie, aka Milton Owen Ingley, in Pam & Tommy. Hulu’s Pam & Tommy presents the whirlwind that surrounded the Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson stolen sex tape scandal, allowing a closer look into the many players involved in the incident. Uncle Miltie, as played by Nick Offerman, was largely responsible for the large-scale distribution of the stolen tape.

Ingley is known to have entered the world of pornography in the year 1977, after becoming a Vietnam veteran. He appeared in more than 140 adult films over the course of his career, gradually moving behind the camera and assuming the role of director. Then on, Ingley went on to establish his own production company, Chandler Studios, where Rand is first seen visiting Ingley in regard to the contents of the Hi-8 tape.

In Pam & Tommy, Ingley has been portrayed as particularly sleazy, willing to seize upon the opportunity to capitalize on the stolen sex tape the moment he sees it. Despite acknowledging that the tape is extremely private and that it’s like watching something you’re not supposed to see, Ingley and Rand use it as a means to earn profits. Unable to find a distributor due to the stolen nature of the tape, Ingley went on to approach mob boss Lou “Butchie” Peraino, who financed the endeavor by providing $50,000. While a chunk of the money was used for distribution and operational costs, Ingley reportedly went on to spend most of it for personal pleasures, mostly on drugs and women.

Meanwhile, Rand was busy making sure that the website was running smoothly, wherein they were selling copies of the tape for $55. However, bootleg copies of the tape, both digital and physical were cropping up, hampering the business altogether and reducing demand as a result. As news of the tape became mainstream, the AVN Hall of Fame pornographer was sued by Pamela and Tommy for unlawful distribution and sales of their private video. While Ingley moved to Amsterdam to distance himself from the fiasco, Rand was forced by Butchie Peraino to work as the mob’s muscle man to retrieve cash from those who owed money to the gangster.

In Pam & Tommy, Ingley is pretty unaware of the internet as a phenomenon, and it is Rand who helps him set up the website and run the entire operation. As Ingley takes care of the “capital” part of the business, it is only a matter of time before Offerman’s Ingley tricks Gauthier out of the money, as the real-life electrician did not earn any profits from the business in the end. Ingley evaded the legal repercussions by staying in Europe for seven years or so, eventually returning to the States, where he died in 2006.
