It would be close to impossible to talk about some of the greatest sitcoms of all time without mentioning NBC's absolute gem of a show that beat all the odds to become one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. The Office is easily one of the funniest and most charming sitcoms ever released since the turn of the century, and it goes without saying that anyone who decides to binge this brilliant show will find themselves glued to the screen as they get completely enraptured by this amazing comedic extravaganza.

A big part of what makes The Office such a timeless show is its characters, with Pam Beesley being a highlight in this regard. She has a ton of screen time in the show and her romance with Jim is easily one of the most watchable parts of the show. However, that's not to say that her character is perfect — in fact, there are several things about Pam that are completely nonsensical, even within the context of a show as ridiculous as The Office. So, keeping this in mind, here are ten things about Pam Beesley that make no sense whatsoever.

Pam Leaving Her Job To Go Work For Michael Makes No Sense

Pam might not be the smartest person around, but she's definitely more level-headed than most of her co-workers. This is what makes her decision to work for Michael in his doomed company make zero sense.

It might've been impulsive... but Pam is generally rational during the series, for the most part. For her to just quit a steady job and work for someone like Michael — a person she's had first-hand experience with — is quite baffling.

The Office Is Unusually Mean To Pam At Times

For the most part, one can say that Pam's colleagues generally treat her nicely. However, there are times when this demeanor is thrown out of the window and the entire office starts targeting Pam for no reason.

Examples of this include when she was promoted and when Jim became co-manager — people never stopped giving Pam a tough time, no matter what the circumstances may entail.

She Should've Reported Either Toby Or Michael For Sexual Harassment

Pam is definitely an attractive girl, which means some unwanted attention is thrown her way at times in The Office. However, both Michael and Toby take it too far. The former straight up flashes her in one episode, while the other is a complete creep who straight-up stalked Pam at times.

For Pam to be fine with such predatory behavior and not report it to the higher-ups is certainly quite odd indeed.

The Idea Of Pam Being Involved With Someone Like Roy Is Hard To Believe

It seems that the aura of Pam being smart and level-headed is breaking down with each and every point on this list, and her relationship with Roy has to be completely against her character.

While it may be true that she's been with Roy for a long time, her common sense should've been screaming at her for years to get away from such an individual. Instead, she decided to stick with him for good, which proved to be nothing more than just a waste of time.

It's Odd How Long It Took For Her To Finally Admit Her Feelings

It doesn't help that Pam had another person who clearly liked her — a person she genuinely enjoyed spending time with and had feelings for.

Even after they kissed, Pam couldn't accept her feelings for the longest time, leading to a rather unnecessary situation when Jim and Karen started dating, much to Pam's chagrin.

How On Earth Could Cathy Think That Jim And Pam Weren't Happy In Their Marriage?

Cathy Simms from The Office

Thankfully, Pam and Jim finally got together, enjoyed a blooming romance, and finally ended up marrying just like it was meant to be. Their relationship almost never lost that spark, which was clear for everyone in the office to see.

So, it's quite odd that Cathy assumed Jim wasn't happy in his marriage with Pam. It might've been a hamfisted way to justify her character going after a married man, but it's still a poor observation in retrospect.

Pam's Poor Performance Should've Led To Her Losing Her Sales Position

Pam finally got a Sales job after fighting against the odds for the longest time, but the fact that she had no Sales background should've set off red flags already.

The fact that she managed to stick with this job for the longest time is just proof of how incompetent the management overseeing Dunder Mifflin really is.

Pam Can Lie To Gabe But Not To Her Clients

Gabe Lewis from The Office

In a bid to get a raise, Pam decides to make up a designation for herself and lie to Gabe. This ultimately works in her favor by the end of the series, but there's no denying the fact that this sneaky behavior doesn't exactly suit Pam's character.

After all, the whole reason why she's such a bad salesperson is that she can't be affirmative or forceful with her clients... but she can still lie to a member of corporate?

Pam's Goodbye To Michael Is Heartfelt... But Unrealistic

Michael and Pam hug at the airport in The Office

Michael Scott's departure in The Office is easily one of the most emotional episodes in the entire series, and the part where Pam finds out about Michael's deception and rushes to meet him in the airport is easily one of the best moments in the show by a country mile.

Unfortunately, this scene also makes no sense — it's hard to believe that such a meek person like Pam had the guts to evade airport security and catch up to Michael just when he was about to board the flight.

Pam And Jim's Marriage Woes In Season 9 Are Painfully Forced

Pam, Dwight, and Jim in The Office finale

Pam and Jim's marriage is smooth sailing for the most part... except in Season 9, where everything from relocation to lies to even cheating comes into the mix out of nowhere!

Sure, the couple might've enjoyed a happy ending after all, but the fact that these unnecessary issues even came up in the first place is quite suspect and stinks of lazy writing.
