The Dirt

Motley Crue in The Dirt

If fans just can't get enough of Tommy Lee's wild life stories, The Dirt is the next biopic to watch. Based on Mötley Crüe's autobiography The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band, this movie is not shy about showing the grittiest details of the band's glory days.

The dramedy film bounces back and forth between the different band members' points of view, and it highlights the true ups and downs of the rock star life. Lee is portrayed here by Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, who worked closely with Lee and other band members to make sure he portrayed Lee in a realistic way.

The Runaways

Dakota Fanning, Michael Shannon, Alia Shawkat, Scout Taylor-Compton, Stella Maeve and Kristen Stewart in The Runaways

Another music-based biopic, The Runaways tells the story of how the all-girl rock band came to be. With Kristen Stewart starring as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, it's a movie rock fans definitely shouldn't miss.

This indie film not only depicted how Jett and Currie paved the way for women in rock, but the performances of Stewart and Fanning even impressed the real-life stars themselves. Joan Jett went as far as to say during a Sundance round table interview that Stewart had a "quiet intensity," claiming she definitely studied her well as an extremely dedicated actor.

Sid And Nancy

Sid and Nancy in Sid and Nancy

An equally edgy depiction of the life of rock stars, the Sid and Nancy movie accurately portrays the messy and obnoxious lifestyle of the seminal '70s punk band the Sex Pistols. If fans enjoyed the chaos that was Pamela and Tommy's relationship, they will surely enjoy this angsty story.

While worlds darker than the story portrayed in Pam & Tommy, the biopic does a great job of exploring the punk rock movement of the '70s and why exactly society was so apprehensive about it. Additionally, it tells an in-depth story about the intense love affair between Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen.

My Week With Marilyn

Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn

Named one of the best biopics about Hollywood celebritiesMy Week With Marilyn is a film that any pop culture fan would adore. With such an all-star cast, including Eddie Redmayne and Michelle Williams, the Oscar-nominated motion picture was stunningly underrated according to some fans.

Marilyn Monroe was a public figure that has fascinated the world since her career began and her fans still can't get enough of her. Not only was she the ultimate beauty standard of her time, but she was a talented woman that had a very fascinating life and story.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Freddie Mercury raises his fist as he sings on the stage in Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Freddie Mercury lookalike Rami Malek was a great choice to play the leading man in Bohemian Rhapsody and Pam & Tommy fans will surely love watching this biopic, too. The Academy Award-winning film was well-appreciated by Queen fans everywhere, due to its sentimental value and its ability to be raw and honest with Freddie's struggles at the same time.

Like many other musical biopics, it was near and dear to fans' hearts as they felt they got to witness how history was made when it came to their record-breaking music production. While Queen fans wish Freddie were still here today, they can rest in the fact that his memory was well-honored in this film.

Liz & Dick

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in Liz and Dick

The straight-to-TV movie Liz & Dick highlights an iconic love story between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. While their relationship didn't seem the healthiest at the time, it's undeniable that Taylor and Burton had a rollercoaster of a love affair that kept fans intrigued.

The film starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler was a mixed bag of opinions, given Lindsay's questionable reputation at the time. However, some fans think that no matter how ridiculous some moments in the film might have been, they think Lohan and Bowler did a great job for what the movie was.

Wolf Of Wall Street

Jordan Belfort raising his hand in celebration in Wolf of Wall Street.

Based on the life of Wall Street mogul Jordan Belfort, Wolf of Wall Street has a similar feel to Pam & Tommy. Between the comedy style and the ridiculous nature of the film, both biopics have several parallels to each other.

One reason this film was so wildly popular was because of Leonardo DiCaprio's insane ability to act so perfectly unhinged as a true addict. Wolf of Wall Street definitely had a sense of humor mixed with deep disparity, which is what made the film so beloved among fans.

Bombshell

Charlize Theron in Bombshell

While on the more political side, Bombshell is similar to Pam & Tommy in terms of subjects covered. Not only do both programs touch on the over-sexualization of women and society's inability to take them seriously, but it has that comedic relief that the Hulu miniseries seems to have as well.

In this semi-biopic, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood takes viewers on a wild ride through Hollywood in 1969. As the main plot shows the struggles of a successful actor, fans later discover that the timeline lines up with the terrifying Manson Family murders.

Though the film isn't an accurate portrayal of the times as Quentin Tarantino seems to rewrite the history of both Sharon Tate and a few of the Manson Family members, some would even call it Leonardo DiCaprio's best film yet. Between the unbelievable performances and the wild events in the movie itself, it's a movie that is sure to satisfy the hunger of those that love watching chaos unfold.

Walk The Line

Johnny Cash playing the guitar in Walk the Line

Though not entirely similar to Pam & TommyWalk the Line is yet another biopic based on the life of an iconic music figure. While Johnny Cash isn't considered a rock star per se, he surely partied like one back in his prime time.

Another similarity between the two biopics is they both touch on love, with this particular film highlighting the relationship between Johnny and June Carter. Played by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, Walk the Line stands as one of the most iconic musical biopics of all time, given its old-school classic nature.
