There are a few Power-Ups that can be a game-changer in Pac-Man 99. This guide will show players every Special Power-Up and how to get them. After the conclusion of the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario series, Pac-Man came in to fill the void left behind by the Super Mario battle royale. Similar to Tetris 99, players will have their own independent maze that they will need to navigate. 99 players will participate at a time and players can do small things to mess up their flow, causing them to become eliminated. The last Pac-Man standing is declared the winner. Sounds simple enough, but there are minor changes with the Power-Ups in this game that the game doesn't really do a great job in explaining. This guide will show players what each Power-Up can do in Pac-Man 99.

The Pac-Man series has used its Power Pellets as a way to eat ghosts for several decades now. In Pac-Man 99, players are able to eat the fruit at the center to replenish the Power Pellet around the map. The main objective is not only to mess with your opponents but to do little things to extend how long you stay alive. The Power-Ups are on the left side of the screen and players can change between them with a single button press. This guide will show players what each of them can do.

Players will have the option between 4 different Power-Ups during the match. Here is what each of them can do.

  • Standard: This is the default method. It doesn't do anything special for Pac-Man but just keeps things normal. This is great for getting comfortable with the game beforehand.
  • Stronger: For every attack, you send at your opponent, Stronger makes it, well, stronger! It will send more enemies at a time than normal. Although, having this ability reduces the time that your Power Pallets stay active. Stronger attacks for lower defense.
  • Train: More Ghost will be added to the train, allowing for more enemies to be sent to opponents. Although, more Jammer Pac-Man will appear on your own screen and slow you down.
  • Speed: This will help Pac-Man go faster when he collects a Power Pellet. Although, the number of enemies you send to foes will be less than normal. This is great for getting out of tough situations.

It's unknown how long this game will stay a part of the Nintendo Switch Online program. It's currently free but offers additional content for a small price. It's incredibly addictive and one of those titles that you'll keep coming back to until you win.
