Netflix unveils the first Ozark season 4 teaser trailer revealing Part 1's January 2022 premiere and hinting at the danger to come for the Byrdes. Created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams, the crime drama centers on Jason Bateman's Marty Byrde, a self-employed financial advisor living a life as a money launderer for a Mexican cartel who has to relocate his family to the Lake of the Ozarks to set up a bigger laundering operation to make amends for the Chicago-based operation going wrong. The series sees Marty's wife Wendy and his children Charlotte and Jonah struggle with the news of his real work and their new location, with Wendy eventually becoming his partner to better protect their family from the law and local crime families.

Bateman and Laura Linney lead the cast of Ozark alongside Sofia Hublitz, Skyler Gaertner, Julia Garner, Jordana Spiro, Jason Butler Harner, Peter Mullan, Charlie Tahan, Janet McTeer and Tom Pelphrey. Though not a critical darling in its first season, the series has received increasingly positive reviews in its three-season run, garnering 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and winning three statues, one for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Bateman and two consecutive Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Garner. Following the best-reviewed season 3 and high ratings it brought, Netflix renewed Ozark for a supersized season 4 that will be split into two parts and conclude the series.

With just a few months remaining until the series' return, Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Ozark season 4. The video features voiceovers from the main cast of the series hinting at their respective journeys in the final season of the hit crime drama. Check out the teaser below:

The new teaser for Ozark season 4 may not offer much in the way of what to expect from the story of the final chapter, but it nonetheless is sure to bring excitement from fans of the series. The video comes packed with plenty of dramatic footage from the main locations around its Ozark setting and voiceovers reminding audiences where the main cast left off their journeys in season 3, including Darlene Snell's quest for vengeance against Marty. The most interesting part of the video comes at the end in which Bateman and Linney's Marty and Wendy are seen joining the second baptism party for cartel leader Omar Navarro's son, in which they look terrified about the situation at hand.

Given Ozark season 3 ended on such an explosive note with Helen having been murdered in front of the Byrdes, their fear is certainly understandable. It also ties in well with the footage from season 4 revealed during Netflix's virtual TUDUM event, in which Marty and Wendy were seen shakily cleaning up the mess from Helen's murder before joining the party. Only time will tell what danger the family will face heading into the final season when Part 1 premieres on January 21.
