Netflix just dropped their official Ozark season 4 trailer setting up the final season of the hit show. Premiering in 2017, Ozark stars Jason Bateman as Martin "Marty" Byrde who launders money for a Mexican drug cartel. Laura Linney plays Wendy Byrde, Marty's wife and mother to Charlotte Byrde (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah Byrde (Skylar Gaertner). There series has received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its acting, writing, directing, and tone. The first two seasons hold an approval rating of 70% and 76%, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes, while Ozark season 3 holds a 98% rating.

Critics largely agree that Ozark season 3, which debuted in 2020, "found its footing" and really ramped up the tension of the story. Consisting of ten total episodes, the season ends in a shocking moment of bloodshed as Omar Navarro, the Mexican drug cartel leader, shoots Helen, an attorney who represents the cartel. Marty and Wendy are then embraced by Navarro while covered in blood and he tells them its only the beginning of their partnership. With the Byrde family essentially becoming an important player in Navarro's enterprise, for better or worse, they are "completely in the game now." The brutal Ozark season 3 finale set the tone for the events of the upcoming season.
