In the first week of release for the new episodes of Ozark season 4, the series has been streamed for over 4 billion minutes. Ozark, which was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams in 2016, is a crime drama that follows a suburban dad who moves his family to central Missouri to expand his money laundering business. The series stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Esai Morales, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, and Julia Garner, who has won two Emmys for her role on Ozark and also appears on last week's hit Netflix show Inventing Anna.

Ozark season 4, which is also its last, has been split into two parts, with the first 7 episodes premiering just over a month ago on January 21, 2022. That set of episodes received a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which has recently made its television section more robust. While that number is slightly lower than the well-regarded season 3, it's still considerably higher than either of the first two seasons. Ozark season 4 part 2's trailer announced the April 2022 premiere date for the last batch of episodes.

Per TVLine, Nielsen has reported that, for the week of release for Ozark season 4 part 1, the series' 37 episodes have been streamed for 4.1 billion minutes. This is the second time the series has broken that 4 billion mark, the first time being in spring 2020 when most audiences were stuck at home during the first wave of international COVID-19 lockdowns (Tiger King also crossed that threshold in the same period). It's important to note that this total has been amassed by people viewing any episode in the series, not just the slate of 7 new episodes that dropped on the service.

Ozark has continued to be a strong draw for Netflix and has only dropped slightly on their internal Top 10 metrics. On their most recent chart, it is still the number 4 English-language series on the streamer, only behind Inventing Anna (which dropped on February 11), Love is Blind season 2 (which began airing that same day), and Sweet Magnolias season 2 (which premiered on February 4). By their calculations, Ozark has been streamed for 1.09 billion minutes during the week of February 14 through February 20, which is still a staggering number.

Ozark is clearly still a Netflix heavy hitter, so the ending of season 4 may break the show's own record when it debuts. If the series sticks the landing, the hype behind the season finale may launch it well past the 4 billion mark, combining the fan excitement with the views from people catching up with the series for the first time. There is also likely to be a huge bump from fans who can't let go, starting it over after the finale to continue spending time in that universe.
