Netflix has premiered the first look at the highly anticipated final season of Ozark. Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, Ozark first debuted in 2017 and was met with positive critical reception. Bateman stars as Marty Byrde, a financial advisor who gets wrapped up in a drug trafficking empire. Marty decides to move his family, including wife Wendy (Linney), from the bustling metropolis of Chicago to the titular mountainous region of the Ozark's. Marty must continue his involvement in the drug trade, though, and throughout the seasons he and his family have only become further entrenched in the cartel.

Ozark season 3 ended with the biggest cliffhanger of all. Just when Marty and Wendy thought they might be killed by their boss Navarro he flips the script and executes cartel liaison Helen right in front of them. Ozark will end with season 4, a supersized affair that will be split into two parts with 14 episodes in total. Netflix has yet to release any details about the upcoming season, keeping plot details under wraps.

Now, Netflix has released a first look clip at the upcoming season showing the aftermath of the events of the Ozark season 3 finale. Wendy and Marty can be seen cleaning off their faces that were covered in blood after Helen's murder while outside a baptism is going on. Check out the clip below:

Ozark has only grown better and better as time has gone on and season 4 is truly shaping up to be a major event for Netflix. What's next for the Byrde's remains unclear - now that they are fully ensnared in the cartel, they may never be able to live the normal lives they hoped to. Additionally, Navarro proved at the end of season 3 that he is a brutal and ruthless leader and murdering Helen in front of Wendy and Marty was clearly a fear tactic to keep the pair in line.

What he has in store for them, though, could see them go deeper and deeper into the nightmare that has become their lives. Right now, it's unclear when Ozark season 4 could return. With the season being split into two parts, it seems likely that the first seven episodes could premiere sometime in the first half of 2022, with the final batch premiering either later next year or in 2023. Netflix will certainly want to make this show last and keep audiences on the edge of their seats as they wonder just how, or if, the Byrde's will ever be able to live normal lives.
