The movie Oz The Great And Powerful introduces a lot of engaging characters. Some are more likable than others and it's no mystery why. Before Dorothy ever set foot in the Land of Oz, a whole other story unfolded. Oz The Great And Powerful portrays a fun and exciting rendition of the events that took place in Oz with so many characters that make the story genial.

These characters range from flying baboons to elegant witches and fans find some of these characters insufferable and others exceptional. Check out this list of characters from the film ranked by likeability.

Evanora

Evanora

Out of all the characters, Evanora (Rachel Weisz) has to be the worst character for her manipulation and treachery. While many fans have been under the impression that The Wicked Witch of The West is the most conniving villain in the kingdom, they soon learn that, initially, there is one person who is pulling the strings.

In order to begin her reign of terror, Evanora manipulated Theodora into believing that their other sister was up to no good. She also provoked Theodora into turning evil and had no qualms in killing innocents. There was not one ounce of goodness in her.

The Wicked Witch Of The West

The Wicked Witch Of The West

Actress Mila Kunis displays her talent by portraying both Theodora and her transformed evil side, The Wicked Witch of the West. After getting her heart broken by Oz, The Wicked Witch of the West decides to get her revenge and attacks the small kingdom of the Quadlings.

With no goodness left, the audience soon sees her try to kill her other sister, Glinda, out of spite and jealousy. Her drastic change and cruelest intentions make her a very unlikable character in the movie.

China Girl

China Doll in Oz the Great and Powerful

Although there are moments where the audience can sympathize with China Girl, especially when the audience learns of her backstory, the fans couldn't really take to her character.

China Girl may have helped Glinda get her magic back, but, other that, she didn't exactly bring much to the plot. She would just throw tantrums to get what she wanted and would just be used as moral support. The writers could have utilized her character a bit better.

The Munchkins

The Munchkins - The Great and Powerful

They may be adorable and jovial beyond reason, but they don't, in fact, have much value in the movie. Apart from giving viewers the classic cheery introduction to the Quadling Kingdom that is also seen in 1939 musical The Wizard Of Oz, the Munchkins mostly prefer to enjoy the comforts of living in a safe kingdom, meaning viewers don't get to see them much.

The only reason long-lasting impression the audiences get is that they have a nice and kind community. They also seem to be willing to fight, protect, and defend each other from attacks. Still, it's a shame that they aren't as involved as the other characters.

Theodora

Theodora - Wizard of Oz

Theodora is introduced as a good witch who falls for Oz's romantic tactics and instantly falls in love. Although she may be a little naive and had a temper at times, the audience could see that she generally did want good and peace to prevail. Unfortunately, Theodora couldn't quell the darkness in her heart for long when Evanora decided to use her heartbreak to her advantage and persuaded her into becoming evil.

It is because of this that fans can't help but wonder that if Theodora's fate could have changed. If it hadn't been for Evanora's poisonous words, Theodora might very well have been the hero that joined powers with Glinda and Oz to defeat the true evil witch in the movie.

Knuck

Knuck

The character, Knuck, plays a big role in ensuring that Oz and Glinda's plans work out. He uses his position and loud personality to get his way without being questioned. Without Knuck, the story of Oz might have missed out on that feisty attitude and true grit that makes it so enjoyable to watch. He may be a tough cookie to crack but in the end, viewers can't help but feel his friendship and loyalty and even his moody temperament make him quite the memorable character.

Oz

Oz

The film starts with Oscar, who puts on magical performances for money. He is portrayed as greedy and inconsiderate but also disheartened and a bit miserable. However, his transformational growth is what makes him one of the most liked characters.

He not only discovers that love and kindness are the most important things in life, but he also accepts that he has a good heart that can be used for positive influence on others. He does go through a few phases which makes people change their feelings about him, but in the end, he is a good man and fans can appreciate his role in the movie.

The Tinkers

The Tinkers

The Tinkers might be the most useful characters in the story. The power of invention is the savior here as it as their quick thinking fast and magnificent works that helped to save the Quadling Kingdom from a tragic massacre.

They are underestimated but these great inventors prove to be more useful than a strong brute army. Master tinker (Bill Cobbs) in particular puts his faith in Oz (and vice versa) and together, they manage to trick the evil witches and instill hope in the good people of Oz.

Glinda

Glinda

Evanora manages to convince everyone in Emerald City that her sister Glinda (Michelle Williams) is the wicked one. Once Oz finally comes face to face with her, he realizes that she is the kindest most inspirational good witch that could ever live.

Glinda only cares about saving the people and giving everyone hope to live in a peaceful and loving world. In terms of "goodness" Glinda undoubtedly takes first prize. She is the symbolism of everything good making her one of the most liked main characters in the movie.

Finley

Finley

Loyal to the very end, Finley promises to stand by Oz until death and he really does do everything in his power to keep his word. He is a sidekick who is better liked than the hero.

This flying monkey is the best because he is reasonable, direct, down-to-earth, sarcastic, witty, and an all-around good-hearted friend.  Finley constantly performs beyond expectations to make sure everyone he cares about is safe, even if it means scolding them. Is it any wonder that he is the most liked character?
