In Overwatch 2, players can experience the fully remodeled tank character Orisa. With two legs added to her character design, Orisa is now quicker to move around the map. Players accustomed to playing this character defensively with minimal movement and shields will be surprised to find Orisa requires an entirely new strategy. With her shields and barrier ability removed, this hero in Overwatch 2 is now useful for crowd control, tank damage, and dealing damage to the opposition.

Orisa's primary weapon is her Fusion Driver, which functions like a railgun. While this weapon does not rely on ammunition, players will need to be mindful of the overheat bar. If the bar fills entirely to indicate the gun is overheated, players will not be able to fire again until the gun has cooled down. Additionally, Orisa's ability Energy Javelin allows her to throw a javelin projectile at her opponents that can deal a large amount of damage and stun enemies. Further, the javelin projectile will also knock the enemy back a bit. If players get the timing right to knock the enemy into a wall on the map in Overwatch 2, the stun will last longer and deal additional damage.

Orisa also has the ability Javelin Spin, which allows her to spin a huge javelin in front of her to block any incoming projectiles, remove enemies from her path, and increase her movement speed. This ability is key for Orisa to force her way into the frontlines and defend her team. Fortify is another one of Orisa's abilities, and it grants her immunity to crowd control and reduces the amount of damage she takes. She is also given 125 points of temporary health as well as a reduction in the amount of heat her gun generates by 50%. However, this ability does have a downside, as it will cause Orisa to move 20% slower.

Terra Surge is Orisa's Ultimate ability. When she uses this ability in multiplayer in Overwatch 2, the enemies within her area of effect will be pulled into her, which grants her crowd control. Furthermore, Orisa can slam down her javelin weapon to deal area of effect damage, which will damage any opponents that were pulled into her. This Ultimate ability allows Orisa to control the fight by gathering all her enemies in one location and dealing damage to them all at once.

Players should note that they can use Fortify and Energy Javelin simultaneously. This will allow Orisa to retain her normal speed, as the increase in speed from Energy Javelin is offset by the reduction in speed from Fortify. Players can also use Energy Javelin defensively to protect Orisa from Roadhog in Overwatch, who has a powerful Ultimate ability that can be difficult to avoid, or bullets from a Soldier: 76. Players should also consider pairing her with a character with more mobility, like Lucio or Moira. Additionally, tanks like D.Va and Winston can help with controlling the high ground, as Orisa tends to stay firmly where the action is at the frontlines.

The best counters for Orisa are characters that deal damage from a distance, like Widowmaker or Pharah. Because Orisa has difficulty reaching these characters, they can easily land damage without being in the area of effect of her Ultimate ability or javelin. In addition, Damage per Second (DPS) heroes in Overwatch 2 can also be difficult for Orisa to reach, such as the new addition Sojourn.

Overwatch 2 is the sequel to the Blizzard team-based PVP shooter released in 2016. Overwatch 2 will completely supplant the original entry, shuttering the prior title in favor of 2. This sequel reduces team sizes to five instead of six. Players will choose from one of thirty playable heroes and pick from one of three classes: damage, support, and tanks. PVP remains the core focus; however, Overwatch 2 now has a stronger emphasis on cooperative play with the addition of PvE modes - four-player cooperative excursions where players will take on different tasks against AI opponents. Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play game and will offer a battle pass option like others of its genre instead of its prior loot box system, allowing players to earn cosmetics and more each season.
