Outriders is the first game by publisher People Can Fly. Players can choose between different roles on their team to help ensure everyone's survival through each level. The Devastator, for example, works as a tank and can take the damage that others may not be able to take.

However, the Devastator is more than just a shield from damage. There are plenty of great builds for the Devastator and each build really depends on what your team is looking for. For new players, this can be a little harder because they may not be sure what to expect. However, we do have some ideas as to what builds would be best for new players!

Devastator Skills in Outriders

The first thing to know is that the Devastator, regardless of build, has a few skills that will unlock over time. Regardless of skill trees, these attacks will become available and players will be able to assign them whenever they see fit.

  • Earthquake releases a shockwave that deals 85 damage and interrupts all enemies in front of the player.
  • Golem will fortify the player against 65% of incoming damage for eight seconds.
  • Gravity Leap will have the player jump into the air and strike targets from above, dealing 107 damage. Landing will interrupt enemies within a small radius.
  • Reflect Bullets will create a barrier that shields the player from enemy projectiles and accumulates damage. After 10 seconds, the damage is reflected back to enemies ahead. The barrier will also protect the player against melee attacks by reflecting some damage back to enemies.
  • Boulderdash charges forward to interrupt all enemies in their path and deals damage. The move finishes by smashing the ground and dealing damage to all enemies in a small radius.
  • Endless Mass will encase a single target in stone. This will inflict bleed and pull enemies within a small radius towards it. The stone will eventually explode and deal damage to all enemies within a small radius.
  • Impale will interrupt a select target's skills, inflict Bleed and deal damage. The enemy will be impaled if the damage is lethal. This will create a zone that grants a health and armor regeneration bonus to allies in range for nine seconds.
  • Finally, Tremor will create a series of explosions around the player. Each explosion will deal damage and drain health from enemies within a medium radius.

It's nice to know what's available ahead of time so players can best choose what is available to them later. It can also help create the right build for their team.

The Devastator has three main branches of Class Skills to choose from, but players can unlock a section of small and large nodes in each branch before committing to a specific path. Skill Points are given when players level up. The three main branches of their skill tree are Vanquisher, Warden, and Seismic Shifter. The Vanquisher is a weapon master who deals more damage, shoot more accurately, and reloads faster. The Warden focuses on health and armor regeneration. Finally, Seismic Shifter lets the player buff their Anomaly Power and makes the player resistant to various status effects. Each branch has its positives and negatives, but players should try different things to see how they go.
