Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Outer Banks season 2.

Netflix's Outer Banks season 2 is packed with a range of new and classic songs — here's a handy breakdown of the full soundtrack. The popular, sun-soaked adventure series takes place in North Carolina, specifically the range of islands known colloquially as the OBX. The bulk of the drama revolves around the Outer Banks' class divide embodied by Kooks and Pogues. Those tensions are often exacerbated by a race to find a local treasure and underscored by an equal parts modern and retro soundtrack that emphasizes the disparate personalities.

In Outer Banks season 1, the hunt centers around a horde of gold from the shipwreck of the HMS Royal Merchant. Leading the charge for the Pogues, John B (Chase Stokes) joins forces with his best friends JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss). They also eventually align with the rebellious Kook Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), who forms a relationship with John B. Unfortunately, the ones opposing them are principally Sarah's deceitful father and psychopathic brother, Ward (Charles Esten) and Rafe (Drew Starkey). Though the Pogues find the gold first, the ending of Outer Banks season 1 sees it stolen and John B is forced to go on the run with Sarah under the cover of having died at sea.

Outer Banks season 2 picks up where things left off. Despite being presumed dead, John B is still the subject of a manhunt, having been framed for murdering Sheriff Peterkin (Adina Porter). Regardless, he and Sarah track the stolen gold to Nassau in order to retrieve it. Meanwhile, JJ, Kiara, Pope mourn their friends, before being drawn into a new treasure hunt — one revolving around an artifact named the Cross of Santo Domingo. The respective quests inevitably bring the long-lost friends back together. Conversely, it also rapidly brings them into contact with dangerous new enemies led by C. Limbrey (Elizabeth Mitchell). And each step of Outer Banks season 2's individual and collective journies is underscored by a truly eclectic soundtrack. Here's the name of each song and where they can be heard.

As such, their time away from North Carolina will only be short-lived, And though the majority of the Outer Banks season 2 finale favored a musical score over songs (as befitting the tense action that unfolds), there'll no doubt be a new and extensive soundtrack to enjoy in the sure-to-be inevitable Outer Banks season 3.
