Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper are the cutest LGBTQ+ couple right now and fans cannot seem to get enough of them. They have already started demanding from Netflix to renew the series for season 2. It would be fun to see more of Nick and Charlie, lest Heartstopper gets renewed.
The final episode of season 1 sees them making their relationship official and Nick coming out to his mother as bisexual so, viewers would naturally like to see more of them being boyfriends. In the meantime, there are luckily some other LGBTQ+ couples on television that fans can get behind.
Victor And Benji - Love, Victor
Victor and Benji are the main couple of Love, Victor. They got together in the season 1 finale and season 2 follows their new relationship. At the start of their relationship, they are very much like Nick and Charlie. They get along well and have some extremely cute moments.
However, Victor and Benji's love story has a lot more angst and drama than Nick and Charlie. Victor and Benji do not have a smooth relationship as Benji fails to understand the issues that come with Victor's family background.
Eric And Adam - Sex Education
Eric and Adam's story follows the trope of bully and victim becoming lovers. However, once they do get in a relationship, they are one of the best couples in Sex Education. Adam wasn't a likable character in the first season, but gradually, he has become of the most beloved characters in the show due to his layered personality.
It turns out he had been repressing who he is for a long time because of his abusive father. Due to this, he needs time to fully come to terms with his sexuality and this is a cause for distraught in Eric and Adam's relationship, which eventually ends up in a break-up.
Kat And Adena - The Bold Type
Kat and Adena had an on-and-off relationship in The Bold Type. However, they are very much like Nick and Charlie because the moment they meet in season 1, their chemistry is palpable. Like in the case of Nick, Kat discovered that she is attracted to the same sex after she met Adena. She was only attracted to boys before her.
Kat and Adena are one of the major couples in the show and no matter what happens, they always find their way back to each other. They fit with each other seamlessly because whereas Kat is wild, Adena is calm and they bring out the best in each other.
Tara And Darcy - Heartstopper
Tara and Darcy are the only other same-sex couple in Heartstopper apart from Nick and Charlie. They are in a relationship when fans meet them, but no one knows about them. During the show, they come out and make their relationship official. Unlike in graphic novels, the couple's story is one of the main sub-plots of the Netflix show.
Their relationship dynamic is very similar to Nick and Charlie. In the case of Nick and Charlie, Charlie has embraced his homosexuality a long time ago but Nick only starts to question his sexuality when he meets Charlie. In the same way, Darcy is an out and proud lesbian, while Tara took her time in discovering her sexuality, and even then, it deeply bothers how others see her differently after coming out.
Wilhelm And Simon - Young Royals
Wilhelm and Simon from Young Royals are another teenage homosexual couple on Netflix that fans were swooning over last year. The series followed the life of Prince Wilhelm and his forbidden romance with another boy at his school. He had to choose between following his heart and his duty as the future king of his country.
Wilhelm and Simon have a lot more angst than Nick and Charlie, but their romance is worth it. Their love story is truly addictive and the show is renewed for a second season.
Willow And Tara - Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Buffy The Vampire Slayer's first LGBTQ romance was between Willow and Tara. The show has seen many relationships emerge and then turn to dust. Among them, Willow and Tara had the longest-running relationship in the show.
It was one of the first shows that didn't show fetishize female-female romance but humanized them and depicted them as any other relationship in the show. Buffy is turning 25 in 2022 and this show's legacy will always include the impact this couple had on the portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships.
Ian And Mickey - Shameless
Ian and Mickey are one of the best couples on Shameless. They had far from a smooth relationship but they always tended to come back to each other. They had an instant connection in season 1 and could never stray too far from each other since then.
They ended up marrying each other at the end of the show and fans can't help but swoon over how amazing their chemistry is whenever they are in a room together.
Lily And Ola - Sex Education
Lily and Ola from Sex Education do not get as much attention in the show as other couples but they still are amazing. Ola is bisexual and she initially had a relationship with the show's lead character, Otis. However, she gets together with Lily at the end of season 2.
They make a truly great couple and they are incredibly good for each other. Lily is an eccentric character and she is often picked on by other students in the school. So, it is good to see her find someone who gets her. The scene in the season 3 finale when they make up is one of the cutest moments of the show.
Dani And Jamie - The Haunting Of Bly Manor
Dani and Jamie are another LGBTQ+ couple with sizzling chemistry and their romance forms the core of The Haunting Of Bly Manor. The series falls in the horror genre, but the final episode shows a tragic end to their romance and made the series feel more like a beautiful love story than a horror mini-series.
Towards the end of the show, before Dani sacrificed her life, they had the most amazing romance. They built a life with each other, which was incredibly heartwarming to see.
David And Patrick - Schitt's Creek
David and Patrick are probably one of the most popular LGBTQ+ couples in recent years. The Canadian sitcom, Schitt's Creek, developed their romance in the most natural and heartening way.
They are polar opposites, but they seemed the right fit for each other the moment they met. Similar to Nick and Charlie, their relationship is filled with adorable moments. Their relationship is devoid of any drama and they had one of the most beautiful weddings in television's history in the show's series finale.
