Oscar Isaac made an appearance at a Comic-Con@Home panel Thursday to announce the latest project he's been working on, a graphic novel titled Head Wounds: Sparrowcoming from Legendary Comics and due out next year.

The supernatural-noir story will follow Leo Guidry, a character described by Legendary as a "bad person and an even worse cop," who suffers a "psychic head wound," The series description asks: "In a landscape of angels, devils, and everything in between, can a person utterly devoid of empathy find a way to overcome the forces of darkness that have infiltrated his reality?"

Isaac is developing the story with two childhood friends - Bob Johnson, and John Alvey. The idea for the story came to Johnson in a dream following his diagnoses with stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. New York Times best-selling author Brian Buccellato will write the story, and the art will come courtesy of Christian Ward.

Speaking of his collaboration with his longtime friend and series progenitor, Isaac had this to say:

“Bob Johnson has a mind and a soul like no one else. Our friendship and creative collaboration has spanned nearly three decades. I couldn’t be more excited to bring his unique and singular vision of Head Wounds: Sparrow to life with the incredible group of artists we’ve assembled.”

Isaac is the latest Hollywood star to recently announce a new comic book series they've developed. Days ago, news broke that Keanu Reeves is co-writing (and also kind of starring) in a series of his own, BRZRKR, which is currently scheduled to release in October. A panel on that series is coming July 26.

So while Star Wars won't be doing any panels at this year experimental version of San Diego Comic-Con, fans can at least still get their Poe Dameron fix with Head Wounds: Sparrow. No release date has been announced yet, but Legendary says to look for an early 2021 release. Pre-orders are not yet available, but Legendary's site says they're coming soon. Any eager fans looking for more information can check out the virtual panel for themselves below.
