The Orville: New Horizons trailer promises an epic battle with the Kaylons, an artificial non-biological race of robots. Created by Seth McFarlane, and clearly inspired by Gene Roddenberry's classic Star Trek, the science-fiction comedy series follows Captain Ed Mercer (McFarlane) and the crew of the USS Orville as they go on interstellar adventures. Originally premiering on Fox in 2017, season 3 marks the show's first appearance on the Hulu streaming service.

Hulu has released the first trailer for The Orville: New Horizons that showcases massive space battles and the continuing threat of the Kaylons. After defeating the robot fleet with the help of the aggressive Krill, a moment of peace was achieved between humans and the alien species. However, by the end of season 2, the Kaylons returned to complete their mission of wiping out all biological life in the galaxy. Lt. Grayson (Adrianne Palicki) attempted to correct the timeline she inadvertently changed in season 2 by wiping her mind and returning to the past to have a second date with Mercer, thus restoring the original timeline and a chance to save the future. The success of her plan remains to be seen, but as shown in the new trailer, the Kaylon threat has yet to diminish.
