Paramount+ is entering the Halloween season by debuting a new psychological horror movie called Orphan: First Kill, which features a frighteningly talented ensemble cast of familiar actors. A prequel to the film Orphan, Isabelle Furhman reprises her role as the psychopathic Esther. When it was released in theaters in 2009, Orphan was a modest success at the box office, grossing over $78 million against a budget of $20 million.

The original movie was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, but Isabelle Fuhrman has taken on producing duties for this new prequel, which sees her in a lead role this time around. Orphan: First Kill presents a new story for Leena as she escapes an Estonian psychiatric facility and makes her way to the United States. While in America, she poses as Esther, the daughter of a wealthy Connecticut family who has gone missing.
