The Oppo Watch 3 Will Have ECG

The Oppo Watch 3 will have an ECG version

As previously speculated, the Snapdragon W5 will not be the only chipset inside the Oppo Watch 3 series, according to Digital Chat Station. Just like the Oppo Watch 2, the new smartwatch will have a co-processor called the Apollo 4 Plus. The Ambiq chip is a low-power one similar to the QCC5100 co-processor Qualcomm has paired with the Snapdragon W5+. According to details on Ambiq's website, the SoC has a built-in GPU and a high-performing display driver. This should allow it to power the display for low-power tasks or when tracking exercises. Oppo uses a dual OS strategy (Android + RTOS), so there is a possibility the Apollo 4 Plus will be the chip powering the RTOS.

The Oppo Watch 3 will also have an LTPO display (with an adaptive refresh rate) like the Apple Watch Series 7. It will also be available in standard and ECG versions. Although no details about how much the smartwatch will cost have been released, the ECG version is expected to cost more. Oppo's third-generation smartwatch will be arriving ahead of the Apple Watch Series 8 and the Google Pixel Watch. However, while these smartwatches will be launched in multiple regions, it is not yet known whether Oppo's new wearable will be sold outside China. The Oppo Watch 2 was exclusive to China, so who is to say the same won't happen again with the Oppo Watch 3?
