The Oppo Find N is a folding smartphone with a truly striking design, but does it have capable specs to back up its good looks? The folding phone niche has absolutely exploded in just a handful of years. Since the original Galaxy Fold debuted in 2019, the following years have seen additional Samsung models, folding handsets from Huawei and Motorola, and rumors that companies like Apple and Google are also getting in on the action.

On December 15, the Find N debuted as Oppo's first foldable device. It looks similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and has a hinge that promises to address two of the biggest folding phone pain points — such as removing the display gap and drastically reducing the visible crease. It's one of the more impressive folding designs so far, and thankfully, it's also joined by a healthy list of flagship specs.

Let's start with the Oppo Find N's screens and design. The outer display is a 5.49-inch AMOLED panel with a 1972 x 988 resolution. That's backed by a 60Hz refresh rate and 1000-nits peak brightness. The inner AMOLED display is much larger at 7.1 inches with a sharper 1792 x 1920 resolution. It also has a variable refresh rate that goes up to 120Hz and all the way down to 1Hz (with the same 1000-nits of peak brightness). When the Oppo Find N is unfolded, it measures 132.6 x 140.2 x 8.0mm. Folded, the Find N is 132.6 x 73mm x 15.9mm (roughly the same as the Z Fold 3). The Oppo Find N also weighs 275g.

Powering the Oppo Find N is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It's not the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, unfortunately, but it's still more than capable for virtually any workflow. Alongside that is 8 or 12GB of RAM, 256 or 512GB of storage, and a 4,500 mAh total battery capacity. When that battery eventually runs out, the Find N supports up to 33W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. There's even support for 10W reverse wireless charging — allowing the Oppo Find N to charge other Qi-enabled gadgets.

Next, let's talk cameras. On the back of the Oppo Find N are three camera sensors. Leading the charge is a 50MP primary camera. It has an f/1.8 aperture, 1/1.56" sensor size, and optical image stabilization. Joining it is a 16MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The Oppo Find N also has a 13MP telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture. But that's not all! The inner and outer displays each have their own front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Specifically, it's a 32MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

Then there are all of the miscellaneous specs. The Oppo Find N has 5G support and Wi-Fi 6 for speedy network performance. There's also Bluetooth 5.2, Aptx HD and LDAC audio file support, NFC, and two forms of biometric authentication — including a side-mounted fingerprint sensor + face unlock. At the heart of all this is Oppo's ColorOS 12 operating system (based on Android 11).
