Sara Gore has been giving viewers an inside look into amazing houses, first throughout New York and later throughout the country, for thirteen seasons of Open House. As the host of Open House, Sara is the face of the program that shows not only beautiful homes, but the people behind the creations. The show has resonated with many viewers, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic, and fans have dubbed it "television comfort food." Now, she's sharing even more insight in this Screen Rant exclusive.

Sara says that she thinks a "home should reflect your life, who you are, where you've been, and where you're headed. I think your home is the best example of your history and your soul. There's nothing but emotion when it comes to someone's house." Sara explained why she believes this show has kept viewers entertained after all these years, saying, "Open House is all about helping you make it that way and inspiring you to make you home your sanctuary."

Sara has said that she hopes the show gets fans excited about their homes, and she has applied a lot of what she has seen on the show to her own home. She has found fans telling her they have gotten some great design tips, and brought some relaxation into their mornings. She has lauded designers for their ability to "create an emotion when you walk into the house," saying it amazes her "how beautiful these places are" and so diverse, all right in her native New York.

As a native New Yorker, Sara said she can attest to the fact that since everyone is "so close together, we're all so curious about our neighbors." She added that Open House has the unique ability to "peel back the curtain" and give viewers an "opportunity to see how people are living and what they're doing with their space." She says she loves that many fans have come up to her and called it their "Sunday morning ritual."

Especially with the challenge of the pandemic and being isolated from people for the past year, Sara was thrilled she could provide comfort to people that were able to forget their troubles and relax in front of the TV. She said that it has continued to grow with the viewers, as they are able to see the creative minds behind the designs and all of the love put into the homes. One of Sara's hopes for viewers is to provide light entertainment that can be an escape for a short while. Open House became the ultimate TV comfort food when people were not able to even see the inside of friends' houses for over a year.
