Hulu released their first official full trailer for the upcoming comedy series, Only Murders in the Building, which shows off comedic duo, Steve Martin and Martin Short, as they team up with Selena Gomez to solve a murder mystery. With all three on deck as executive producers, the show follows the actors' crime-obsessed characters as they incidentally become wrapped up in a true crime of their own. After a gruesome death occurs in their ritzy Upper West Side apartment building, a Clue-like game ensues.
Following up after their first official teaser for Only Murders in the Building, Hulu has unleashed a new, official trailer that gives viewers a stronger taste of what's in store. The dynamic between Gomez, Martin, and Short is innately intriguing right off the bat. While they poke and prod around their living environment, which seems to serve as a world of its own, viewers are presented with a fun take on what childlike curiosity looks like through the eyes of grown adults. Other cast members thrown in the mix are Amy Ryan (The Office, The Wire), Aaron Dominguez (Shaft), and Michael Cyril Creighton (Spotlight, High Maintenance). Check out the official trailer below:
Everyone loves a good murder mystery that offers more than just a few sparse moments of comedic relief. If there is a team of comedy favorites who can pull it off, Martin and Short are the guys for the job. Given the overwhelming success of films like Knives Out, which already has number 2 underway, fans of quick-witted comedy who simultaneously relate to true crime obsession have been able to have their cake and eat it too. With most of Martin and Short's recent TV appearances being limited to guest-star roles and one-offs, it will be a satisfying fix to see them as undeniably entertaining characters in ten full episodes. Murders in the Building will premiere on Hulu August 31st.
