Warning: This article contains spoilers for Only Murders In The Building season 2 episode 1 & 2.

After the first two episodes of Only Murders In The Building season 2, there is a slew of suspects in the murder of Bunny Folger, the former board president of The Arconia. The show returned without missing a beat, picking up immediately after the shocking ending of Only Murders in the Building season 1. With Mabel, Charles, and Oliver now persons of interest in Bunny's murder, the trio is arrested. Of course, to clear their names, they will have to undergo another investigation that will take them down some interesting rabbit holes.

In Only Murders in the Building season 2's first 2 episodes, many of those rabbit holes are explored, and numerous suspects pop up. Some were already in the running after the end of the first season due to their previous relationships with Bunny, but season 2 introduces some new characters that could be suspects in the untimely demise of the board president.

While initially deterred from continuing their podcast, Charles, Mabel and Oliver eventually realize that the only way to clear their names will be to find the murderer themselves. This leads them to produce a sequel to their original podcast, allowing the show to continue its poignant and hilarious commentary on true crime and murder mystery podcasts and television shows. While the list of suspects starts out wide (with five and counting introduced in the first two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 2 alone), Oliver, Charles, and Mabel will likely be able to winnow it down as the season goes on. Nonetheless, there is key evidence and clear clues that point to several people. Some of them have a direct relation to these clues, and others have more mysterious motives that could be fleshed out as the season goes on.

Howard Morris

Howard Morris in Only Murders in the Building

Howard was an interesting but seemingly innocuous character in season 1, more worried about his missing cat than the murder of his neighbors. His distaste for Charles, Mabel, and Oliver also made it seem as if he found the whole ordeal unsavory, choosing to stay out of the fray when it came to the murderous activities in The Arconia. Howard's reintroduction in Only Murders in the Building season 2, however, is immediately filled with red flags. He invites Mabel, Charles, and Oliver to Bunny's memorial and, when questioned about a mysterious black eye that he has, tries to brush it off by saying he fell. His invitation to the trio is also suspect. Howard says he's inviting Charles, Mabel, and Oliver because the killer always attends the memorial service or funeral of their victim out of guilt. While he acts like he's doing the trio a favor so they can figure out suspects, he could also be inviting them to the memorial so that they continue to look guilty.

Howard's interactions with Bunny's pet parrot are also crafted to raise some eyebrows. At the end of Only Murders in the Building season 2 episode 2, the parrot reveals that it knows who killed Bunny, and it certainly looks as if Howard could be involved. Howard can be briefly seen telling the parrot to say, "Howard is my friend." With Bunny dead, there would really be no reason for him to teach the parrot this saying other than to try and stop it from directing any attention towards him.

One more thing points to Howard's potential guilt. He, along with Uma, takes an interest in Bunny's art, going to her apartment to collect it. The art is said to be worth an exorbitant amount of money and quickly becomes a key piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation of Bunny's murder. When Howard and Uma find that the art is missing, both are shocked and frantically search for it. While it's unclear if Howard knew of the art before, it's still a question that needs to be answered.

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer in Only Murders in the Building Season 2

Amy Schumer (who recently hosted the controversial 2022 Oscars ceremony), is playing an exaggerated version of herself in Only Murders in the Building. With Amy already looking comfortably moved into The Arconia, it's possible she was there the night before when Bunny was murdered. Her character's connection to the Sting fake out in Only Murders in the Building season 1 is also curious, with Amy moving into his apartment. While season 1 created a precedent that celebrity cameos wouldn't necessarily be the killer, this would be a very clever (and meta) misdirect. Schumer's big role in the first two episodes also indicates that this will be more than a guest stint.

Amy also immediately takes a keen interest in the Only Murders trio after she moves in. An interaction with Oliver in the elevator makes clear her obsession with the podcast that delved into the investigation of Tim Kono's murder when she vehemently tells him that she enjoyed it. She also says, "I was never that into murder before..." and, after a quick pause, continues, "Podcasts. Murder podcasts." Additionally, Amy says that the podcast made murder "so cozy" - a curious choice of words - and, eventually, Amy expresses interest in adapting the podcast for television. Not only does she want to play Jan (Tim Kono's killer) in her show, but, if she were to produce a show, she would potentially need material for another season. Could this be her motive?

Nina Lin

Nina Lin in Only Murders in the Building Season 2

Not much is known about Nina Lin, a new character in Only Murders in the Building season 2, episode 2. Her brief introduction gives her a very clear motive, though. Oliver, Charles, and Mabel first run into Nina at the memorial for Bunny in her apartment. Before much can happen, Nina steps forward to say a few words, revealing that she has become president of The Arconia's board. Later on at Bunny's memorial, Howard says that Nina is power-hungry and ruthless. At this point, no one should be counted out as a suspect, and while Nina seems like a red herring, as Only Murders season 2 goes on, how big her role is could indicate whether she's guilty.

Leonora Folger

Shirley MacClaine in Only Murders in the Building Season 2

While Leonora is older (and seems to arrive in New York after Bunny's death), she shouldn't be discounted as a potential murder suspect. More than anyone, Leonora seems intent on getting her hands on Bunny's painting. During her appearance at Bunny's memorial, Leonora appears quite frail, but something about it seems purposely overplayed, and it's possible that she is faking it so as to not arouse suspicion. Leonora is also perceptive, picking out Charles, Mabel, and Oliver and declaring they didn't have anything to do with Bunny's murder. While she leaves The Arconia at the end of episode 2, she'll likely be back, as Only Murders loves its cameos and guest stars.

Ursula

Ursula in Only Murders in the Building Season 2

As the manager of The Arconia, Ursula has a lot of knowledge of the ins and outs of the building. She also sells that information in exchange for people buying her gut milk. Ursula's position puts her in the perfect spot to misdirect as she pleases, but, in Only Murders in the Building season 2 episode 2, she can be seen throwing out what looks to be a box of documents and other papers behind The Arconia. At the same time, Ursula can be seen looking over her shoulder to make sure she isn't spotted. While this in itself isn't necessarily suspicious, she did inform Oliver earlier in the episode that someone from Cinda Canning (Tina Fey)'s podcast had bought a lot of gut milk in exchange for information. It's possible she lied, and lying in the midst of the investigation would be enough to make her a murder suspect.
