Warning: This article contains spoilers for Only Murders In The Building.

The series finale of Hulu's Only Murders In The Building was nothing short of thrilling. Yet, with Mabel, Oliver and Charles finally solving Tim Kono's murder and closing the door on the case, it seems as if many more have opened.

With the trio last seen being arrested outside of the Arconia as all the residents looked on, season two of the show has a lot of ground to cover. With the explosive events of the series finale and the fates of the characters hanging in the balance, there are certainly many avenues the show could explore.

Delve Deeper Into The Character's Personal Lives

Whilst season one did well to introduce the characters, season two could expand upon this by digging a bit deeper into each of their backstories. For instance, seeing more of Oliver's relationship with his son would be great for fans to see, especially as they put their differences aside at the end of the first season.

"Open And Shut" also saw Charles finally reaching out to Lucy, his ex-girlfriend's daughter. This would give fans great insight into Charles's relationship with her, should the show explore it. As for Mabel, her and Oscar's blossoming relationship status would be interesting to address, especially as Mabel now finds herself the main suspect in a murder investigation.

What's Happening With Teddy And Theo Dimas?

The episode "Fan Fiction" sees Oliver and Mabel desperately trying to get evidence that Teddy Dimas was responsible for Tim's murder. However, upon their arrest, Detective Williams calls Oliver to tell him that whilst guilty of other crimes, Tim's death was not one of them.

Season two of the show could shed some light on Teddy and Theo's current situation: whether they're both in prison, how long their sentences are, and so on. Considering Teddy was an integral character in the first season, it would be interesting to see what his and his son's lives look like now.

Only Murderers In The Building Podcast

The last shot of the series finale "Open And Shut" sees Tina Fey's hilarious character, Cinda Canning, proposing a new series for her own podcast: Only Murderers In The Building, which was previously shown in a flash-forward in the episode "Sting." Seeing as season one of the show followed the same format each episode, with a title card reading the name of their podcast episode, perhaps Cinda's podcast could replace the original.

To follow the events in season two with Cinda's podcast would offer a new angle on the main characters' lives and present more of a birds-eye view on the events happening. Considering Cinda's success in the podcast world, there's no doubt that her coverage would bring a lot of heightened interest to the residents of the Arconia, and would be sure to cause some problems.

What Loose Ends Mabel Talks About

Whilst Tim Kono's murder has been solved, in the series finale, Mabel muses to Charles and Oliver that she feels that there are still some loose ends that need tying up. Mabel is one of the smartest characters in the show, and therefore it would be necessary for this to be explored further, as she's probably right.

To delve back into Tim Kono's murder now that the killer has been identified could perhaps give the characters more understanding. Also, with the twists and turns encountered throughout the first series, perhaps the loose ends Mabel talks about could lead the trio to discover who killed Bunny and why.

Finding Out Who Texted Charles And Oliver

Both a storyline to be explored and a question that needs to be answered in season two is who exactly texted Oliver and Charles to warn them to get out of the building in "Open And Shut." In the climactic scene, both men receive a text from an unknown number telling them to "get out of the building now."

Whether this person is involved in Bunny's murder or knows something that the trio doesn't, their introduction to the show in the second season would be integral. With Oliver, Charles and Mabel having been arrested, this mysterious source could also help them out, or potentially hinder them further.

Charles, Oliver And Mabel Clearing Their Names

Perhaps the biggest storyline that needs to be explored is how the main characters of the show are going to get themselves out of trouble and cleared in Bunny's murder. Considering that Mabel was found over Bunny's body with the murder weapon and covered in her blood, the police will be hard-pressed to look for suspects elsewhere.

Whether the second season will revolve around this issue or if it will jump forward is unclear, but this storyline will surely be integral to explore. Also, how the residents of the Arconia react to these events would be fascinating to see. They were grateful to the trio for solving Tim's murder, but, after Bunny's shocking death, this will probably change.

Figuring Out Who Killed Bunny

In what was one of the show's biggest plot twists, Bunny is found dead in Mabel's apartment at the end of the episode "Open And Shut." Alongside Mabel, Oliver and Charles trying to clear their names, it would be great to see them back in action and trying to figure this out.

With the odds against them and Cinda Canning now mimicking their podcast, how they go about finding the killer would be compelling to see. Whether or not they would even have the chance, considering their current status, seeing the trio pick up their podcast again (perhaps in defiance against Cinda), would also be a riveting storyline to explore.
