An Only Murders in the Building season 2 trailer has been released. The series follows three strangers played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez who live in the same apartment complex and happen to be obsessed with true-crime podcasts. After a mysterious murder at their own apartment, the three decide to team up to investigate the case and create their own podcast chronicling the story.

The series was a hit when it premiered on Hulu on August 31, 2021, and was praised by critics, where it went on to be nominated for multiple awards. The main trio has become such a cultural phenomenon they were even considered as the host for the 94th Academy Awards. In September 2021, the series was renewed for season 2, with the finale of season 1 ending with a major cliffhanger that featured the main characters getting arrested.

While Only Murders in the Building season 1 premiered at the end of the summer and ran through the fall, Hulu is now very confident in the series as it will be one of their big summer programs. Only Murders in the Building season 2 is set to premiere on June 28, 2022. It is one of many high-profile series premiering in June, which also sees the debut of the third season for The Boys, Love, Victor, and Umbrella Academy. With the entire first season available to binge, it is possible the series has grown in viewers, which could lead to a large bump for season 2.

Only Murders in the Building season 2 is shaping up to be a big one, as, in addition to Schumer and Delevingne, the series has also cast Shirley McClaine, and Nathan Lane, who will reprise his role as Teddy. It may be too early to think of season 3, but given the popularity of the series, it is likely the series creators are thinking about it and might lay the groundwork as they did in the prior season. With only three months to go before the premiere, more trailers will likely drop teasing more of the mystery to come.
