Only Murders in the Building season 2 is set to return to Hulu, bringing its star-studded cast back to screens along with a slew of new characters and cameos. Premiering in 2021, Only Murders is a comedic riff on true-crime shows and podcasts and the murder-mystery genre with a meta-bent. Following unlikely trio Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, Only Murders in the Building tracks them as they become engrossed in the mystery of Tim Kono's murder, a resident in their Upper West Side apartment building The Arconia.

While solving the mystery of Tim Kono's murder, Mabel, Charles, and Oliver start their own podcast to document their adventures, leading them to meet a laundry list of colorful neighbors who are reluctant to help them solve the crime. What began as an innocuous investigation, though, soon spiraled into something much larger than they predicted, with Mabel's connection to the victim leading them down a rabbit hole that led to plenty of suspects and even other crimes. Of course, the reveal of the identity of Tim Kono's murderer at the Only Murders in the Building season 1 ending was an unexpected twist.

With Charles' girlfriend Jan the real murderer and the day saved by Oliver and Mabel, all seemed well at The Arconia. It wouldn't be a murder-mystery show without a couple of twists, though. Just when everything seems tied up in a bow, Mabel is found with the body of Bunny, the building's board president. Embedded in her chest is Mabel's knitting needle and while the show makes it clear that she isn't the murderer Only Murders in the Building season 2 will follow the group as they try to clear their names and find another killer. Along with that, more residents of The Arconia and several new guest stars have been announced along with some unexpected returning characters that are sure to shake up the investigation. Here's everyone starring in Only Murders in the Building season 2.

Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora

Selena Gomez returns as Mabel Mora in Only Murders season 2. After helping Oliver and Charles solve the murder of Tim Kono, Mabel bonded with the older men despite their generational divide. Season 1 ends with Mabel discovering the body of building board president Bunny and she is accused of the murder. Only Murders in the Building season 2 will follow Mabel, Charles, and Oliver as they try to solve Bunny's murder and clear their own names. Prior to earning acclaim for her role as Mabel, Gomez was perhaps best known as a Disney star and popular recording artist.

Martin Short as Oliver Putnam

Martin Short returns as Oliver Putnam in Only Murders in the Building season 2. In contrast to Mabel and Charles' more pragmatic sensibilities, Oliver is outlandish in his daily life, spearheading the podcast and convincing the other two to go along with his zany plans. Expect more of that when the show returns and as the trio looks into Bunny's murder. Short has been working in Hollywood since the 1970s, rising to prominence during a brief stint on Saturday Night Live.

Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage

Steve Martin's Charles-Haden Savage found himself embroiled even deeper in Only Murders in the Building's season 1 mystery when it turned out Jan, his lover, was Tim Kono's murderer. Reeling from his status as a former television star and the loss of someone he was close to, Charles was eager for friends and Mabel and Oliver were quick to fill that void, even if he was initially reluctant. Now that he has helped solve one murder, though, he may be more eager to help solve the murder of Bunny. Like Short, Martin is known for his numerous comedic roles, including a stint on Saturday Night Live and various other iconic roles. Prior to his role on Only Murders, Martin had retired, but the Hulu show rightfully brought the actor out of retirement.

Tina Fey as Cinda Canning: An in-universe podcasting icon, Fey plays Cinda Canning. Initially, Cinda helps the Only Murders trio, but now she is hosting a podcast about them - Only Murderers in the Building - after Mabel is accused of Bunny's murder. Fey, like comedy vets Short and Martin, basically needs no introduction - the actress has starred in Saturday Night Live and various sitcoms and films like 30 Rock and Mean Girls as a trailblazing comedian.

Vanessa Aspillaga as Ursula: The Arconia's building manager, Ursula roped Oliver into a gut-milk MLM scheme in exchange for information on residents in the building. How involved she'll be in the investigation into Bunny's murder remains to be seen, but it's almost guaranteed that she'll have vital information to exchange for the purchase of even more gut milk. Aspillaga has made a name for small character roles, including several appearances across various seasons of Law & Order.

Michael Cyril Creighton as Howard Morris: Howard is one of the many characters that live in The Arconia. Season 1 saw him obsessed with the disappearance of his cat, but his connection to Bunny may see him become more invested in the events of Only Murders season 2. Creighton starred in the Dexter revival New Blood and has also been seen in Dash & Lily and High Maintenance. He will also appear in the upcoming A League of Their Own revival.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Williams: Detective Williams spearheaded the investigation into Tim Kono's death and was bothered by Oliver, Charles, and Mabel's meddling. She will return to investigate the death of Bunny and although she has come around to the podcasting trio, now they are persons of interest, and all bets are off the table. Randolph has been seen in numerous movies and shows, most recently 2022's romantic comedy The Lost City and as Veesy in The Last OG.

Lane has had a varied career in theater, film, and television, with some highlights including The Lion King, The Producers, Toy Story, and more.

Jackie Hoffman as Uma Heller: Hoffman returns as Uma, an Arconia resident who was close friends with Bunny. How that will factor into her Only Murders season 2 role remains to be seen, but, like other residents, Uma has no problem sharing her thoughts on the goings-on in the building. The 88-year-old MacClaine has been working in the industry since 1952 and has earned numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, Emmys, and Golden Globes. Some of her notable roles include The ApartmentSteel Magnolias, and In Her Shoes.

Amy Schumer as herself: Amy Schumer stars as herself in season 2, akin to Sting's cameo in Only Murders in the Building season 1. Michael Rappaport as Detective Kreps: Micael Rappaport stars as another detective set to investigate the murder of Bunny. With Detective Williams knowing Mabel, Charles, and Oliver so well, it can be expected that he may play more of a "bad cop" role than Williams. Rappaport has held recurring roles on Friends, My Name is Earl, and Justified.

Cara Delevigne as Alice: Alice will serve as a love interest for Mabel in Only Murders in the Building season 2, although her intentions with Gomez's character remain unclear.
