OnePlus is tipped to launch its Nord 3 mid-range smartphone later this year, and recent leaks have revealed pretty much everything about it already, including its specs and launch time frame. OnePlus is largely known for its flagship smartphones like the OnePlus 11, but the company has also been launching a slew of more affordable mid-range devices as part of its Nord lineup. While the Nord 2 was released in 2021, its successor is finally expected to launch this year after a two-year gap.

According to tipster Max Jambor, OnePlus will launch the Nord 3 mid-range smartphone in July this year. Jambor also added that it will be a re-badged OnePlus Ace 2V that is tipped to be unveiled in China on March 7 in line with OnePlus' policy of launching most of its smartphones in China first before releasing them globally. The company did it with the OnePlus 11 earlier this year, so it's not a major surprise that it's expected to chart a similar trajectory with the Nord 3.

It's not immediately clear if there will be any differences between the global Nord 3 and the China-specific Ace 2V in terms of their hardware, but earlier leaks have revealed some specifications of the global model. According to MySmartPrice, the Nord 3 will feature a 6.72-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It will reportedly be offered in 8GB+128GB and 16GB+256GB configurations.

The device will reportedly have a triple-camera setup at the back, including a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro snapper. At the front, there will reportedly be a 16MP camera for selfies and video chat. The Nord 3 is tipped to sport a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVooc fast charging, which could juice up the battery from 0-100 in just about 30 minutes. There's no information about pricing yet, but that will likely be leaked in the lead-up to the launch.

If the leaks hold up, the Nord 3 will be a formidable mid-ranger, although its success will likely depend on its price. It will also be interesting to see if it will make it to the U.S. market, given that the original Nord from 2020 and Nord 2 from 2021 never made it to U.S. shores. That said, a lot has happened between 2021 and now, with OnePlus finally starting to forge better partnerships with the U.S. carriers, meaning there's a chance that the Nord 3 will finally come stateside.
