A budget OnePlus phone might be hitting U.S. shores real soon and the extremely affordable smartphone will reportedly come with a massive battery and a triple-camera setup. Despite the company's announcement of its future smartphone price hike, consumers might still be getting cheaper handsets sooner rather than later.

OnePlus is known for offering smartphones outfitted with the latest tech and at lower than usual prices. For example, the flagship OnePlus 8 garnered a lot of attention for its heavy promotion, beefy specs and having a relatively lower price than the competition. The company then unveiled its Nord not long ago, which sports some powerful specs, but at a price more often associated with mid-range smartphones. However, it seems like OnePlus will soon be releasing another smartphone that's even cheaper, and unlike the Nord's limited availability, the upcoming model will reportedly be available to buy in the United States.

The entry-level phone allegedly carries the code-name “Clover,” according to Android Central. It surprisingly has some decent specs for its low cost, including a Snapdragon 460 processor, 4GB RAM, a 6.5-inch 1560 x 720 resolution LCD display, Adreno 610 GPU, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 64GB storage. What's even more surprising is its ginormous 6,000 mAh battery capacity, 18-watt fast-charging support, and its three rear cameras. In terms of those camera, the setup includes a 13-megapixel main shooter, along with two 2-megapixel cameras. According to the information, the upcoming OnePlus budget phone is scheduled to “imminently” launch in the US and elsewhere.

OnePlus Clover Compared To Pricier Alternatives

The OnePlus Nord might be among the best budget smartphones around, but the upcoming “Clover” just might snatch that crown if its alleged price tag is true. At just $200, the OnePlus Clover's decent specs and large display might offer very good value. In comparison, the Nord costs around $350, and in spite of Clover costing more than $100 less, it comes with a greater capacity battery than the Nord's 4,115 mAh solution. Not to mention the Snapdragon 460 SoC is pretty much purpose-designed to ensure budget phones like this don't lack in the performance department. The new phone will come running on OxygenOS 10, the company's modified version of Android 10,

Unlike the Nord, Clover is said to also come with a traditional 3.5mm audio jack. However, it doesn't seem to have any water resistance details and it remains to be seen what -- or won't -- be included in the box. Not to mention, there are no real details on what the secondary front-facing camera will be like and capable of. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if OnePlus would make the Clover's launch as interesting as Nord's was.
