The hit teen drama, One Tree Hill premiered on The WB network in 2003 and lasted for nine seasons, switching to The CW network in its third season after The WB and UPN merged. Nathan is feeling the pressure in this episode as he and the undefeated Tree Hill Ravens get ready to play against Cove City. When Nathan's father, Dan, played against this team in his glory days, he broke a record for most points scored.

Nathan wants to beat his Dad's record and decides to take performance-enhancing drugs to help his game. Because of the drugs, Nathan passes out mid-game and is taken to the hospital, but Nathan doesn't stay put long, going to find Hayley, who's the only one Nathan wants during that moment.

In the first episode of the series, viewers learn that Nathan and Lucas couldn't be more different, except for the fact that they share the same father. Nathan is the star of the high school basketball team and the quintessential popular jock, while Lucas is more of an outcast who enjoys reading and lives modestly with his single, working mother.

The worlds of the Scott brothers are about to collide when Lucas gets a shot to join Nathan's basketball team, and he decides to take it.

The Search For Something More (8.6)

Brooke wakes up after a night of drinking and debauchery and Peyton fills her in on what she did the night before. Brooke decides she needs to right all of her wrongs. She's responsible for Hayley being mad at Nathan, with neither of them being willing to forgive Brooke, but she promises to make it right and sets them up on a date at Karen's Cafe.

Meanwhile, Karen gets a letter saying she's been accepted to a cooking program in Italy for six weeks, but fears she has to turn the offer down because of her responsibilities to her son and her own business.

Crash Course In Polite Conversation (8.6)

At this point in the season, Lucas and Brooke have fallen for one another. Peyton enlists their help to fix up her father's car as he is returning home from a work trip and she wants to surprise him.

Before Peyton's dad makes it home, a hurricane hits and her dad's boat gets lost at sea. Peyton must go to Hilton Head to identify a body that washed ashore, which turns out not to be her father. Lucas goes with Peyton, but while on their road trip, they realize they aren't just friends and return to Brooke feeling much guiltier than when they left.

I Shall Believe (8.7)

Lucas is in the hospital after a car accident where Keith was the driver. At one point, Lucas flatlines, but the doctors are able to bring him back and stabilize him so he will be okay. The cops reveal to Lucas' mom, Karen, that Keith had alcohol in his system, but not an illegal amount, still, Karen is furious with Keith.

Karen learns a lot about her son and what he's been doing since she's been in Italy. She sees his new tattoo and meets his girlfriend, Brooke, who is somewhat responsible for the tattoo.

Spirit In The Night (8.7)

It's the weekend of a big away game for the Tree Hill Ravens and a competition for the Ravens cheerleaders. Both the cheerleaders and the basketball team are staying in the same hotel for the weekend with Karen and Peyton's dad, Larry, chaperoning.

The basketball team's players sneak out and end up in a strip club, using fake IDs, while the cheerleaders have to pull together a late-night practice after one of them gets the chickenpox and Hayley has to step in to replace her.

To Wish Impossible Things (8.7)

It's the evening of the Boy Toy auction, where all of the basketball players auction themselves off for charity. Peyton, hoping to win Jake, gets outbid, and Hayley bids on Lucas so the two friends can spend some quality time together.

When Nathan walks on stage and Hayley sees all of the girls bidding on him, she gets jealous and begs Peyton to bid on Nathan so she doesn't have to worry about him spending the night with a random girl. Peyton does so and gets stuck on a night out with her ex, while Brooke bids $200 on Mouth because she can.

Hanging By A Moment (8.9)

Karen takes the opportunity to study cooking in Italy and has been gone for six weeks, leaving Lucas under the supervision of his Uncle Keith. Keith and Lucas are on their way to the airport to pick Karen up when they are hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Lucas is seriously injured. Having seen the accident, Dan rushes to Lucas' aid and bring him to the hospital. Once there, Dan admits to the doctors that Lucas is his son so he can authorize the procedures needed to be done to save Lucas' life.

Every Night Is Another Story (9.0)

It's the Ravens' first away game of the season and tensions are high between Lucas and Nathan. The Ravens are winning the game, but Nathan and Lucas can't help themselves and ruin it when a fight breaks out on the court.

The Ravens still walk away with a victory, but Coach Whitey is very angry with his two star players and he kicks them both off the bus to make them find their way back to Tree Hill together, thirty miles away from home.

The Games That Play Us (9.1)

The series finale of the first season of One Tree Hill is packed full of drama. Brooke is in the middle of an elaborate plan to send Jenny, the mother of Jake's baby, far away from Tree Hill and Jake. Deb has an affair with Dan's brother Keith, and the Ravens lose their final game after Nathan doesn't take the shot at the final buzzer, but passes the ball to Lucas instead.

The biggest shock comes at the end of the episode when Hayley reveals to Lucas that she and Nathan are married.
